Trapped In Time. Surrounded By Evil. Low On Gas. Bound in human flesh and inked in blood, the ancient "Necronomicon", (the Book of the Dead) unleashes unspeakable evil upon mankind in director Sam Raimi’s (Darkman, Drag Me to Hell) outrageously hilarious third chapter in his Evil Dead Trilogy. Back to do battle with the hideous "Deadites, ", Bruce Campbell returns to the role of Ash, the handsome, shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed department store clerk from S-Mart’s housewares division. Demonic forces time warp him, and his Oldsmobile, into England’s Dark Ages, where he romances a beauty (Embeth Davidtz, The Amazing Spider-Man) and faces legions of the undead. Can Ash save the living from the evil dead, rescue his girlfriend, and get back to his own time? Great if it will work in your 4K UHD player...
Updated: I exchanged my Panasonic DP-UB420P-K and got a Panasonic DP-UB154P-K. That player plays the disc perfectly. The movie looks great in 4K. I'd highly recommend it.The 4K UHD disc looks great on my LG 4K UHD player, but won't work at all on my Panasonic DP-UB420P-K 4K UHD Blu-Ray player. The regular Blu-Ray disc works in the Panasonic, but not the 4K UHD. Other 4K UHD Blu-Rays work in the Panasonic, buit not this one. Would have been 5 stars if I could have gotten it to work on the Panbasonic. I wish LG still made 4K UHD Blu-Ray players. One of my favorite movies of all time, so I'm pretty disappointed it doesn't work in the Panasonic player since that's hooked to my biggest/newest TV. I had heard the Panasonic was one of the best 4K UHD players, so I'm doubly disappointed the disc doesn't work in it.

Outstanding Bruce Campbell Movie
Great cult movie starring Bruce Campbell. My sons and I have watched this movie together many times over the years and always thoroughly enjoyed it. Best of the Evil Dead series, by far.

ARMY OF DARKNESS LEGACY ON 3 DISCS, INCREDIBLE WORK SCREAM FACTORY
ARMY OF DARKNESS finally on blu-ray, and a proper official release to courtesy of Scream factoryUniversal wouldn't of bothered making any effort to bring this film to blu-rayand 4 Different versions of it aswell which is a surprise to mei knew there was the Theatrical version which i've seen once many years ago and i didn't like itmainly cause it wasn't Sam raimi's vision of the film, Universal had the final say of the Theatrical versionlots of scenes were cut outand i knew of the Directors cut by Sam raimi himself which has about 15mins of extra footage inserted back inthe extra scenes that Universal edited from the Theatrical version.the new HD transfer for the Directors cut does look excellent very nice sharp & clear picture quality, hardly no grain or Dirtmuch better quality than the very old Anchor bay versionthe sound quality has been boosted to 5.1 master audio mix which does sound excellent.there's an International version included in this blu-ray set aswell, which is a surprise to memaybe it's the U.K. version, i don't know. this int' version is 88min long in 1:78:1 ratio NOT RATEDapparently the HD transfer for the international cut is 4k scan well i compared this to the Directors cut versionand the picture quality looks very similar i can't really tell the Differencethe sound quality for the Int' cut is the same 5.1 master mixand 1 more version the TV version which must've been broadcast to U.S. TV sometime in the 90'sthe TV version which is 90mins is only a Digital remaster transfer in 1:33:1 ratiothe picture quality is Good, not excellent but watchable.now to the special featuresDisc 1 has the Theatrical version in 1:85:1 ratio plus the new 95mins retrospective Documentary MEDIEVAL TIMESincredible Doco aswell, very indepth Detailed account of the making of Army of Darknessinterviews with most of the cast & crew from the film with exception of Sam raimiBruce campbell, Ted raimi, Robert Tapert, Bill Pope, Joseph Loduco,Actors Marcus Gilbert, Richard Grove, Patricia Tallman, Angela featherstone, plus the special effects team Greg nicotero, Howard berger, Robert krautzman and many othersplus theres the original ending & Alternate opening, Deleted scenes all have optional commentary by Sam raimi/Bruce campbellplus TV spots and Theatrical trailerDisc 2 has the Directors cut in 1:78:1 ratioAUDIO COMMENTARY BY BRUCE CAMPBELL & SAM RAIMICREATING THE DEADBITES featurette which was taken from the Screwhead edition dvdBEHIND THE SCENES FOOTAGE FROM KNB EFFECTS, 53mins of footagePROMO MAKING OF FEATURETTE- 4.mins 50secEXTENDED INTERVIEWSDisc 3 has the International version & TV versionSTILL GALLERY & RARE BEHIND THE SCENES PHOTOS -28minsMORE RARE PHOTOS OF THE PROPS-4minsTHE MEN BEHIND THE ARMY 19mins more footage with the KNB effects teamIncredible, the Legacy is complete with this blu-ray set, 3 Discs on Disc trays in clamshell case5 stars for sure

A ultimate edition wow Scream Factory did what Universal wouldn't
Army of Darkness is one of those home video releases there has been lots and i mean lots put out there!Does anyone remember the Limited edition Director's Cut on VHS in the gold clam shell case numbered by Anchorbay???In the last 16+ years there's been so many re-releases of this film from the countless dvd's alone i can understand if fans/collectors are gun shy double dipping x10 at this point we've all done itBut, I'm pretty sure this Collector's Edition is the Ultimate edition when you get down to itYou get a lot of bang for your buckIf you have Bruce Campbell vs Army of Darkness Boomstick Edition (2 Disc dvd Set from 2003)you can retire that set and send it out the doorBreakdown of the 3-Disc Collectors Edition SetThe only negative to this set it's Region Locked (A) so fans in the UK, Eastern Europe, Japan, etc. need a region free player if they want itDisc OneTheatrical Version (1.85:1) Rated RAudio track DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1Audio track 2.0*****New Medieval Times: The making of Army of Darness Feature-Lengh Documentary,*** Original Ending,***Original Opening, **Deleted Scenes,***Theatrical Trailer (U.S.) TV Spots and U.S. Video PromoDISC TWO --Director's Cut (1.78:1) Not Ratedextras include****Audio Commentary w/ Director, Actor Bruce Campbell and co-writer Ivan Raimi (This commentray track is old it's from the anchorbay 2-disc Boomstick Edition dvd) any Commentray with Campbell is great though!***Creating the Deadites Featurette,**** BTS Footage from KNB Effects, Inc.**** Vintage Making of Featurette ****Extended Interview Clips,DISC THREE ---International Cut (1.78:1) Not RatedNew 4k Scan from the Inter-positive**** Television Version (in Standard Definition Fullscreen) 1.33:1***Theatrical Trailer (International) ***Still Galleries---with Rare BTS PhotosYou get 4 different cuts of the film which is very cool getting the tv cut it neat to bad it's in SD but, better then some of the bootlegs floating aroundI only threw the first disc into player and watched a few scenesThe Theatrical version looks and sounds awesome (keep in mind i can only compare it to the old HD-DVD Version)Snatch it up while it's on sale for $18.00 great price break this should be the last time we as fans/collectors will have to buy a proper Collector's Edition of Army of Darkness too bad it took 15 tries gotta love consumerismThis is without a doubt one of the strongest releases put out by Shout all yearIt's a must have even if you over bought this film in the past this Collector's edition is the last stop for a long timeOr until Universal tries to put out a bare bones 4K Blu Ray of it9.4/10
