Bought this product for the first time. I had the ole rotten egg smell and such. Just follow the directions and you will be fine. My well was not marked for depth but i had the diameter. If you watch the video on this product, they tell you its better to have to much chlorine (Pellets) than not enough. I poured in the whole bottle in my well. When you mix up the powered chlorine in your bucket, mix it up real well. It takes a little to disolve. I bipassed my softner and filtration system, put everything down the well and let it sit all night. This morning i turned on my garden hose and let it run for 30 miuntes. i then went in and opened all my faucets till the chlorine smell and taste was gone. However, do not forget to drain your hot water tank. THere is a lot of chlorine and the hot water will remain brown tinged. Be sure to drain it and fill it back up. Right now my cold water is crystal clear and good tasting as well as the hot. Great product

This kit did a great job of cleaning up my 75 year old water well. I'm pretty sure this well had never been properly maintained. It had brown scum, rust sediment and and a smell that made the water unusable. I would not drink it. Someone had installed a cheap and simple 20 micron cartridge filter at some point. The filter would clog up in about a weeks time. I trashed it prior to treating.I used the kit according to the instructions, the result was amazing. Out came lots of lots of sediment and brown water.In my case, there is enough product included to do 2 treatments as my well is 50 ft deep.I installed a filtration system with a 40 micron spin down filter and a 2 stage sediment/charcoal filter unit with proper bypasses to make things foolproof.I am now enjoying good water for a total investment of about $400.As far as I am concerned, you can't go wrong with this product. I'll keep it on the shelf for future treatments.

Ugh, hard water is the worst! We've tried a bunch of different things to soften it up. We used twice the recommended amount for our well size just to be sure it worked. When flushing it out the water was rust colored and then clear. I was so excited to have fresh clean water. This seem to work for a little while, like maybe a month or so. Then, bam, the water's back to being gross smelling and hard again. So frustrating! I really expected more after reading the reviews and the cost. But unfortunately this product doesn't seem to have the longevity I was hoping for money spent.

Easy to use, with clear instructions.

We had to shock our well twice after a new pump installation. I purchased 1 kit based on my calculation where I was just under the required amount but shocked it anyway and the tests came back positive a week later. I then called the tech support and they advised me to get two kits and shock again using both. That did the trick. Great tech support! A word of warning to anyone using laundry chlorine--- DONT! unless you have the MSDS from the manufacturer. Most of the ones I see now have some antiwrinkle or fabric-care additives which are toxic. If you can still find just pure sodium hypochlorite, then maybe... but Well Safe has the added benefit of providing pellets that sink to the bottom of the well so it's more effective than just liquid bleach. Yes it's expensive but having to deal with bottled water and retesting isn't worth cheaping-out trust me.
