Western Digital 1TB WD Black Performance Mobile Hard Drive - 7200 RPM Class, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache, 2.5" - WD10SPSX, Mechanical Hard Disk

I was always a bit skeptical in this wd brand for hard drives... a lot of external ones failed, way back in 2010 or so. But now, of course things have changed, improved! leaps and bounds. I bought a lenovo legion 5 in 2021, and its still a champion for everything... it only had one small irritating problem... the external or secondary mechanical hard drive for storing data that came with it was simply not fast enough. It lagged for seconds and then started working again and it was also wd. But whenever I would start to work on a project, or even played a video or even a song from that secondary hard drive, it would just freeze for a few seconds, then resume and act as absolutely normal. I even bought an ssd to mitigate this issue with time critical stuff like recording audio. Until I got absolutely sick of this and decided to just plunge and get this one. And I must say that: 1. Its quieter than the older one, 2. Its way faster, 3. That problem literally disappeared, even though its almost identical to the previous one. I am sure this will last for years to come. Wholeheartedly recommended!

I love WD Black. They are just workhourses with great specs. This drive set up very nicely and the Acronis software from WD is a bonus. Not only does it provide options for copying/storage, but also has some cool intruder protections. I had a problem with Amazon's delivery (DELAYED), but not the fault of the seller. Will buy again from this seller.

It's hard to go wrong with Western Digital HDD's. This one replaced a 9 year old failing Hitachi drive and I hope to get a long service life out of it. I am a bit concerned, though, because although it has operated flawlessly for 5 months, recently, a couple of times it has made intermittent buzzing noises. I guess time will tell.

Bought this for a upgrade to my PS3 Slim. Works wonderfully..... probably the best HDD I've come across.

7200 RPM drives are MUCH preferred over 5400 RPM.I would have bought a 2TB if WD made one in 7200RPM.32-bit windows can handle up to 2TB. And the price difference between a 1TB and 2TB is trivial. If they made one.

I ordered this to replace the secondary drive in my dad’s HP Envy all in one. This was the exact OEM drive that was in the Envy and it worked as expected. I was a little surprised in the packaging being simply a static sleeve covered in bubble wrap though but I assume these were bought as OEM drives from HP and that they never had commercial boxing. Whatever the case I like the drive.

The seller will not honor the warranty. I had one drive failed within 10 months and I cannot get any response from them to replace or refund the cost of the drive. These WD Black drive have a 3 to 5 yr warranty but since the seller is a builder of PC’s WD will not warranty them. You must go thru the seller, and they will not answer or response to any request for an RMA – Stay clear of this seller
