Awesome
This is great it’s like real bought it for my 7 yr old nephew . Who loves anything to do with pirates .. He would not put it down . When I showed it to my husband he liked it so much he had to go out and get one for himself and his friend . They come in this beautiful wooden sheliac box with a brass anchor on it . Just stunning . Can’t go wrong for the price . Looks more expensive than u paid for it . You won’t be disappointed!!!!

Compress and expand segments to focus! Great optics, beautiful instrument!
We got two of these for our kids. Impressive looking product, nice wooden case, etc. Unfortunately we were dissappointed to discover the optics were terrible, impossible to focus and see anything clearly. Then one day, I discovered: The focus is changed by compressing and expanding the collapsable pieces, not by spinning the eyepiece! BOOM, crystal clear and pretty high magnification. By slowly sliding out the segment, I can move focus back through our backyard, from the window 5 feet away to the trees 150 yards out. Beautiful! To me that's a huge tip since we were resigned to it being a decorative piece, and really it's NOT!

Fairly Nice "Pirate Style" Telecope
Seems fairly well made. I got the 17" model and would recommend it for any adult/teen over the 6" one. The 17" collapses to 5 3/4" but at full extension is really only 15 1/8" long. While you can see out of it fine at different distances by partially collapsing (or not fully extending it) which is the way it's supposed to work, when fully collapsed, you can see a LOT of dust/specs on the optics, but they are mostly unnoticeable when extended. The last section is a bit stiff to extend, so I'll have to grease it or something for more smooth operation. Other than that, pretty nice and fun to use. So, 4 stars because of it not truly being 17", dust/specs on the inside of the lens, and the stiff 3rd section.

7 year old boys treasure
My 7 y/o got a pirate toy kit at a local shop in my home town. The spyglass was his favorite... little did I know it wouldn't last 5 minutes outside the packaging before splitting in half. My son was devastated. I looked all through amazon looking for the one thing that would make him happy again. Which brought me to this product. Not only is it made to last, it came in on time.

Not at all as pictured
I like this little telescope, but I am rating it three stars because the picture is not of this product at all. The box is longer and does not have the golden anchor design - it is plain wood. Also, the black part of the telescope does not have the same texture as the picture. Overall, it is simply a picture of a different product. It is also a different product than what others posted in their review pictures. The one I received has a nice plain wooden box and is about six inches long. The extended telescope is about a twelve inches, much larger than what other reviewers posted. I think ordering this would be a wild gamble. I got it for a "lightning deal" at just over $10, which is fine for what it is. The telescope works fine and adjusts by extending or collapsing. I can see birds in the backyard really well. Our kids think it is great and are having a lot of fun with it.

Well it looks nice
It looks amazing, extends nicely, but it didn’t really work. Not returning it because I did buy it more for show, but the description says you’d be able to see clear images, which I could not. Closest I ever got to seeing a clear image was taking it apart (carefully) to take out the magnifying lens within. Still had fun playing with it but it was useless for the actual purpose of a telescope. (Also a little disappointed there wasn’t an anchor on the box)

Damaged when arrived.
I am really disappointed with this product. I know the price is low and you get what you pay for but like others said this is smaller than advertised, the box does not match the picture and the condition I received it in was terrible!!!!!! When they shipped it they threw it in a very lightly padded bag. The telescope has marks on the brass and the box was broken. It looks like it went around the world in the back of pickup. I am not happy with the way it was shipped and that I did not get what was advertised. Be careful in buying this product.
