Functional and affordable!
Functional and affordable! I bought this unit for use as an alternative to a more expensive Fluke Multimeter. I work in an electronics manufacturing facility, and I had the calibration of this meter checked before using it. The reading were very precise, and it checked out better than several Fluke handheld units that we use for product troubleshooting. This meter also has a temperature sensing probe that come with the unit. All of the readings from the meter can be transmitted via Bluetooth to a smartphone, tablet, or PC. The smartphone app allow the data from the meter to be recorded and graphed. This is great for monitoring a test. I will admit that the this meter fells a bit "lightweight" in comparison to a Fluke, and it is likely not as "rugged", but I've been using mine for several months now with no problems.

I have a better DMM, but this is still my "Go To" hobby DMM.
This is the first 'real' DMM I ever bought. I love it. for the price it's a wonderful DMM. It has all the features I would want as an electronics hobbyist. It has better than expected accuracy as far as I can tell. build quality is acceptable for the price. And good features. The auto power off is a little annoying, but if you just hit the func button after it goes off once it'll stay on forever after that. Takes AA batteries *swoon*. None of this 9v rubbish as Dave would say. Only my Mustool has better features, but this one is less than half the price of that one. This DMM is still the one I carry around for my projects.

Great, when it worked...
As the title says, this product was great when it worked. When used in tandem with one of the real expensive, non portable digital multimeters, it's readings were spot on. However, this portable DMM suffers from a couple flaws, both of which would either leave the DMM powerless or not being able to read at all.1. The battery case: Powered by a 9-volt battery, this had a tendency to come loose and lose connection when jostled. In order to get to the battery, you have to remove two screws and push it back in. Problem is that there is too much space between the battery door and the battery. Taping some foam to the inside of the battery case solved this problem.2. The leads: This was the real problem. The DMM would read one minute, then not read the next. Sometimes unplugging and replugging the leads into their ports would solve this, more than often it wouldn't. I used a different set of leads in their place but met with the same issue. If you jiggled them, the might work, but usually not. Therefore, the problem must lie with a defect inside the DMM itself.I had high hopes for this DMM, but I had to return it.

A great meter for the price
A great meter for the price. It is easy to use. All the functions are clearly labeled. The USB connection is done by an optical sensor so there is not a typical connection to wear out. It appears to be fairly sensitive and accurate to reading both power and resistance. Runs on a standard 9 VDC battery and even comes with one. The packaging was adequate and contained a user manual, a set of test leads, a temperature probe, optical USB connection cable and a CD of programs and instructions. There is a program to connect your Android device via Bluetooth to the meter. I was able to load and use the program without any issue. There is a program for data logging to a PC which is simple but useful.Bottom line, you will not find another meter with all the functions and connectivity that this meters offers for the price. Also the seller did a great job informing me when the meter shipped due to it being out of stock when I ordered it.

Well worth the money
The TekPower TP9605BT multimeter has a rubberized case with clips on the side for holding the test probes. It comes with a set of test leads, a temperature probe, USB interface cable, printed manual, and a miniature CD containing documentation, device driver, data logging software, and an app (.apk file) for installing on an Android smart phone. The USB cable is quite thin. It connects to the meter using an optical connection which completely isolates the PC from the meter and whatever it is connected to. After installing the driver and connecting the USB cable, the device shows up as a COM port in Windows. The manual is not well written, so it took a while to figure out how to configure the data logging program. Once I figured out that the baud rate should be set to 9600, it worked perfectly. The program is very simple, and allows measurements to be displayed in digital, analog, graph, or list format. Readings are updated at about once per second, as is the sample rate when logging data. There does not appear to be a way to change the sample rate, which might be useful for logging slowly changing measurements (like temperature) over a long period of time. The program saves the data in a comma-delimited text file that can be easily imported into a spreadsheet for plotting and analysis. The installation of the Android application went very smoothly, as did the Bluetooth pairing of the meter with my phone. This feature will come in handy for making remote readings.Overall I am pleased with the meter and think it was well worth the $45 investment.

Good value for simple data logging applications
I purchased the device for the data logging feature. I was monitoring a slow process so a sample rate of once a second was OK. If you need to sample at more than a few times a second this product will not work. I used both the Andriod App (with a Samsung table) and USB/PC connections (with a Windows 10 laptop). Both worked as expected. The software is clunky. It is not very configurable so if you need to manipulate or analyze the data you will have to export it to Excel. For simple data logging this is a good value. With better software it would be a great value.
