Q: too short is there a extension kit for this device to mount 20 or 30 feet elsewhere?

I contacted Reliance Controls and they wouldn't provide any advice. That being said, the cable used is RG-59 coaxial cable. I figured you could just cut the cable, terminate the ends, and add in an extension for how long you need. I did this and it works fine. That being said, I found they used stranded coax rather than solid. Due to the stranded core I used BNC connectors rather than F-type. I added 6 feet of cable with no apparent issues.

Q: How do you silence the alarm once power is back on? This will be downstairs, in my elderly mom's apt., she will need to know & hopfully it's simple.

Hello and thank you for your inquiry! When power returns to the panelboard, a 100dB alert will sound. Return main breaker to ON position and switch the PowerBACK to the OFF position. Q: So how do hear over the noise of the generator?

I saw some reviews stating that they put a baby monitor next to the device to pick it up. It's a very loud ear piercing noise so it comes over the generator pretty easily

Q: If power comes on but main breaker is off, will this device work? It would not seem so from install instructions.

As long as the sensor wire is wrapped on the power company side of the main breaker, it should work. My guess is that if the sensor is attached after the main breaker and the main breaker it is off, it will not work.
