See also my review of Cachou Lajaunie / 8 tin offer. Both seem to be a licorice/mint combination, but the tiny Cachou Lajaunie ones work just as well for me, are more portable, cost less per mint, and don't load my system up with quite so much licorice (which can have unintended health consequences). These are quite good, though. I like the "slightly flattened" shape and, of course, the bitter flavor. The elves juggling and playing on licorice sticks are cute, too.

Very tasty

I love black licorice and licorice root and these don’t taste like either. They’re really one of the foulest things I’ve ever tasted. Might be an acquired taste, but I’m not going near them again to find out.Half the reason I purchased these was for the tin, and it’s even cuter in person and sturdily made - which is the reason for the three stars.

Wow, these are great w/my morning coffee. I position it in the side of my mouth so that it sticks to the side of a tooth/gum area during the whole time I'm having morning coffee. This is the authentic old style 'Real Licorice' from days of old. It has a very (slightly sweet) minty aftertaste. If you're looking for the chewy sweet style Licorice-you won't want this. This has a (very) Strong taste which I love. There's about 60 of these in the small tin. Each of the Licorice pieces is about 1/4" square in size.

I bought similar candies in Chicago when visiting hoping they would be like ones I remember from long ago. These aren't quite like the mini French ones but a good substitute....for those who enjoy licorice/ menthol lozenges.

I love this licorice, although it's a bit pricey (esp when including shipping). But these are tiny burst of pure licorice flavour-and I am a licorice lover. added perk - its great for the stomach! so I treat myself to...one or two a day. I should've bought two tins since its the same shipping cost. was shipped promptly.

I love the tin, and the licorice itself is real (thus the hypertensive warning). These are perfect for the hard core licorice lover, especially if trying to wean off tobacco. They are not sweet, but are definitely intense!
