Dell Optiplex 3040 SFF i5 6500 8GB RAM 240GB SSD HDMI HD Graphics Win 10 Pro (Renewed)

I purchasedthis as the laptop I was using was too limited in storage and connectivity. I went for a small footprint and a refurbished desktop.Overall this is excellent, although 2 minor negatives: firstly it did not have an SD Card slot as shown in the picture, but for £4 I got a USB version. 2nd, the USB wifi adaptor was next to useless with speeds of 1MBPS to 10. I replaced this with a TP-Link AC1300 High Grain USB wifi dongle (less than £20) which is giving me up to 250MBPS (my broadband I'd 1GBPS). The built in Ethernet connection gives me about 90MBPS, so for my use very good, but with the wifi dongle, is not needed.Monitor connection is with HDMI and another; there are 4 USB 3 ports, 2 front and 2 back and 4 USB, again 2 front and 2 rear, the rest is as described in the product description.Overall performance of the Dell is superb and Internet access is very fast. Reasonable capacity SSD drive, with plenty of expansion via the USB port and easy to setup. Boots up ready to use in less than a minute.All in all a great piece of kit and excellent value for the money

The first PC sent had a faulty USB port and wifi dongle supplied was very weak when connecting to the internet, which a new dongle was sent, on inserting gently into the UBS port got damaged. The after sales team were very good in communication, they arranged a replacement straight away and not had any issues with this second unit. The PC is in excellent condition like new/clean internally also clean cannot tell its a rebuild, not too sure on the SSD looks like its from an old laptop couldn't tell on the remaining life. Based on experience with the purchase nothing negative to add, all good from my end. The seller is doing a good job helping in saving the planet, well done and keep it up.I use this PC for general use only and unable to comment on gaming as to how it performs.I've had the PC coming up to 11 months.

Bought this piece of rubbish in May 2024. Lasted until September 2024 (4 months). Complete failure of the computer system. Had a diagnostic test which showed complete failure of mother board. What a waste of money.

Just shows you you don't need to buy new all the time this is an older work course but it does the job runs a bit defender antivirus without slowing anything down everything runs as expected and nice they threw in a free USB Wi-Fi adapter as this is geared up for Ethernet would happily buy again

Good points:- arrived promptly- no dust inside machine- SSD- fresh install of windowsBad points:- case damaged as shown in pics- rattling inside machine was from broken plastic clip, also shown- no WiFi card. WiFi is provided through a rubbish usb dongle. Expect sub 3mbs speeds on this. Pretty much useless unless you plug into Ethernet.Overall 3*. Not bad for the price but don’t expect an “excellent - refurbished” product. Far from it.
