It was important to me to have a good thermostat to monitor the temperature in my python's enclosure. My DHP is plugged into socket 1, and I found it very easy to set up the physical equipment and the settings to control the bulb. There is an alarm option and it does sound an alarm when the temperature goes above or below my the amount of degrees you set. The wire for the probe is nice and long, the screen is easy to see, and my DHP is maintaining perfect temperatures. It is a dimmable stat so no off and on, it just adjusts the amount of power according to how much heat the bulb needs to emit. There is a second socket there which can be used for lighting, and will control my UV light. There are also options for differences in day and night temp. Does everything needed for one viv

Have a bit of a problem using mine with the Acadia deep heat projector as it won't switch between day and night modes.Currently in talks with the designer and former owner of habistat to see if it is compatible with the heat source I'm using. Other than that it is excellent

I bought two of these and both only lasted a couple of weeks before they started consistently error daily. When they error they shut off all power leaving your reptiles in the cold and dark. I contacted Habistat and went through some troubleshooting and returned them both for replacements.A couple of weeks after receiving my replacement thermostats I had to go away for one night due to work. When I came home around 6pm the next day both of the replacement thermostats had errored and my lizards were in the cold and dark!I will never buy anything from Habistat again as I have lost all trust in them due to this atrocious unsafe product.

Use to control the light and heat for our leopard gecko. Works well and does what it needs to. No issues.

The extra peace of mind from buying one of these is definitely worth it for me. I use them on all my tanks, very easy to set up and with lights like Arcadia's that chain together allows for complete automation of heating and lighting

This does the job but the over temperature alarm does not allow for the fact that the it takes time for the vivarium to cool down between day and night settings so when the timer switches temperature, the alarm activates! The manual even warns that this will happen and tells you to disable it!! The upshot of this is that the alarm has no practical use as it has to be disabled unless you don't mind it going off every day! A simple design fault spoils an otherwise great product. The alarm could have been a good safety feature had it been properly implemented. Otherwise, very good.
