Paper MateWrite Bros Ballpoint Pens, Medium Point (1.0mm), Black, 10 Count

Along with some of the other reviewers, I have also used these (the old-style) Papermate Write Bros pens for decades... Best. pen. ever. Very disappointed to find the new style everywhere this year, and have wanted desperately to believe there had to be some leftovers of the old-style, somewhere. My purchase last week confirmed that these are indeed the old-style as pictured, so I came back and ordered one more package. What makes these pens so great? Smooth, even writing every time... no skipping or ink blotches. The black ink (my fav) is dark and solid. They last a long time. The barrel is comfortable for writing. Just love this pen, and so sad to see that Papermate has changed the design. I'm a journaler, a freelance writer, and a list maker, and keep these pens in multiple rooms in my apartment.

These are one of the only pens that I have found that doesn't smudge often, doesnt skip, and is waterproof. The ink also doesn't change colors or run when I watercolor over it.It is my go to pen. I haven't been able to find it in stores anymore, so I ordered a lot of them just to make sure I don't run out!The only thing that sucks about it is that it's not great on your grip. So if you are a heavy user, it might be worth it to get some add on grip cushions.

Ok, so I knew before I ordered these that they weren't the ones in the seller's picture, by reading the reviews. But I still had hope that they might serve as a distant second to the originals, which in my opinion were the best pens ever made. Boy, was I wrong. These pens are completely horrible. Instead of the cap sliding on over a smooth area like the old style, the new kind have a sharp-edged ridge in the shaft for the cap to be pushed up against, whose only purpose is, as far as I can tell, to create a faint snapping sound upon the putting on of the cap. This ridge is completely unnecessary, and terribly uncomfortable when holding the pen to write with. I need a smooth surface against my fingers when I write, not a sharp, blister-inducing ridge. So my experiment is complete. Bic Round Stic is the second best pen ever made, and unlike the classic Papermates shown in the seller's picture, thankfully the Bics can easily still be bought here on Amazon, and also at a decent number of in-person stores. The Papermates you get if you order the ones listed here, however, rank, as far as I can tell, as the WORST pens ever made.

I purchased these b/c I’ve been using them for years and they’re my favorite shape, color, and flow for ink pens. Apparently the company has discontinued this style - SUPER disappointing - so I was glad I could still get several packs here. I hope they bring the slim, sleek style back in future! It feels good in your fingers, no extra nonsense, as slim as they come, and look the best for cheap ink pens.

Practical for every day use!

These were always my favorite ink pens. I write my best with them. They are slim and lite weight to where you barely feel it in your hand when writing. The point glides nicely across paper and lays dark bold lines. I can't understand why they discontinued this style paper mate. I happened to find one around my house and I put it in my stash. My kids mom said she had more at work, she brought them, they were papermates but not this style. I happened to search Amazon and BAM! There was the treasure.

From anew package of ten I can,t find one that isn,t scratchy . The same model being replaced was smooth right out of the package. If you take #400 Emery sandpaper and rub the tip of the pen ilengthwise you can easily remedy this.

These pens are not the ones pictured. I was taking my chances because I knew that paper mate had redesigned the Write Bros pens in recent years, and the images of the product were of the old style of pen. But a few reviews said they got the old style and a few said the new. I got the new style which is an alright pen as far as writing goes, but the cap is too easily popped off and will defined come off if you are carrying it in your pocket. I’ve begun to believe that it is a fools errand to try and get the old style pen at this point.
