MSA V-Gard 950 Electricians Helmet White with Faceshield Ratchet ARC Flash

Several decades of wearing safety glasses have caused skin irritation around the nose. Tried hats with built in glasses but same problem, the eye visor touches the nose, cause sweat else steams up etc. MSA is the first manufacturer that I know of, and I have watch PPE development as part of my advice to clients, which produce a hard hat with this face shield. This PPE piece of equipment is good not just for electricians but for most people.Trouble I could not find a ventilated version of this hat anywhere (summer 2019). Come on MSA ! For this high price you should have just skiped manufacturing this hat without ventilation and just make ones with ventilation slots - people like me are ones who are buying this and haivng to use in hot and humid climates such as SE Asia and offshore Darwin, offshore Gulf of Mexico, and it is these sorts of places which cause the safety glasses to steam up. Well done for first to market with face shielf but as you haven't got the design just right, I can't advice clients to buy these until you produce model with ventilation. Therefore 4 stars for good but not 5 for excellent.Update April 2020.Not used it offshore or in the deserts yet. However, using it plenty at home doing DIY during Corona Virus Emergency Lock Down. The visor is brilliant, kept all the saw dust from getting into the eyes and nose during sanding and sawing of wood.Note; my pair of hat mounted Peltor Ear Defenders did not clip on well; whereas they do clip on most other hard hats made in UK. Don't know if it is slight change of hat dimensions or problem with Peltor hence the hat keeps the 4 star grading.
