I spent an entire week first comparing all slings available for my one year old Toy Poodle. Based on reading hundreds of reviews, I knew SlowTon was the carrier I wanted based on the adjustable and padded strap. I wanted him to sit against a particular part of my body. I suffered from fractured cervical and lumbar vertebra years ago, so I had to make sure I could support the sling if necessary. (So far, I haven't. It is comfortable and sits exactly as I hoped and I have not had problems with pain). Then I had to decide whether to get the soft sling or hard bottom version. This brought my screen time up 96%. After reading all the reviews for the soft, no-bottom and counting how many people liked the sling but wished it had a hard bottom....I ordered the hard bottom. I was absolutely right. The cotton material is soft and Bart was delighted to get right into it, clearly because it held him securely and he was snug up against me. He sits comfortably on the "hard bottom." If it were up to him, he would never walk again. As you can see by the photo, rather than nap in his bed the first night we tried it, he elected to snuggle into the sling on the floor and go to sleep. Bart is 7 Lbs and I chose the 5-12 Lb size which was the correct size for him. I have not used the clip for his harness yet as we have only walked around the house in his sling to allow him to know he is safe. He seems fine with the mesh top closed, but I am not sure it will be necessary. Still glad it's an option. I suggest if you do order this or any sling that you spend the time in the house using the sling with your dog in it so it becomes a natural way of being together.

This is one of those Amazon purchases where I don’t understand how it could cost so little. Just the fabric to make this would cost more than the cost of this sling. Even though the shoulder strap is not adjustable, I find that more comfortable across my shoulder. I am 5 foot 4, and Because I have a large belly right now, the area in which the dog lies is a little bit resting high on my belly instead of flat against my side. For that reason, obese or large bosomed people might find the strap short or feel it a little bit small, but the construction is excellent and the ability to move it to different parts of your upper body and across the back of your shoulders is manageable because the strap is wide and comfortable. The sling part itself is extremely well-made. The lining is smooth and the little toes and toenails can’t get caught on the totally smooth lining fabric because it cannot snag. That was an extremely thoughtful thing to do. I love that Somebody realized that they don’t want any little toes and toenails getting damaged or hurt because then the dogs will not want to sit in the carrier, and that they took the time to line this so beautifully so that the outside is soft, discreet cotton, and the inside is slippery and cool and safe. I thought the snaps were a nice touch, there are three plastic snaps that go across the top of the carrier to keep the dog safe inside, but there is enough room for the dog to poke their head out of one of the openings and still not fall out. The reason why these plastic snaps are so thoughtful is they make very little noise, unlike the Velcro that is used for many carriers, which is terrifyingly loud and scary for dogs to hear so close to their heads. The fact that the snaps are plastic may or may not make them more durable, I don’t know, but They certainly won’t rust when you wash it. And they don’t have any sharp edges. They make the carrier very easy to open and close. You can glance down and see your pet very easily even if they’re lying down at the bottom. I love that There is a phone pocket! You can’t even buy a phone carrier for this price. So in some ways you’re getting a phone carrier with a free dog carrier attached lol. The fabric is so soft, which is very important for me because I have a nerve condition and I cannot stand fabrics that itch or are artificial. This is a soft light gray cotton. It is not stretchy, which actually makes it sturdier and less likely to dig into your back or shoulder and more likely to sit properly. I washed it in cold water today and let it air dry, it dried very quickly and it did not shrink. It is very lightweight which is super important because I am elderly, and cannot carry any weight other than my dog. I love this dog carrier and I never feel like I love what I get from Amazon it’s either tolerable or I accept it or I just give it away. This surprised me and made me want to share. By the way, my dog is a two-year-old 5 1/2 pound Chihuahua. I got the small. I don’t know if I had gotten a larger size if the strap would’ve been longer. Perhaps only the carrying part would have been larger. Depending on your dog’s age and personality, that will determine how comfortable they are lying in the sling, but as soon as you start moving, whether or not you’re cleaning the kitchen , and you don’t want to leave them when they’re feeling sick, or they’re just a baby, or you just need the comfort of a warm animal against your body, this is definitely the carrier to get. I’ve wasted money on other things, this is a purchase I’m finally proud of. I hope it works for you too. This is my fourth dog carrier and the only one i am keeping. The others were too cumbersome, or the dog could not lie down at the bottom and sleep, or the angle was wrong, and they were all more expensive! Thank you to the company for thinking of all the details and making this so affordable. The only suggestion I would make for improvement is to not sew that care tag that all fabric items have into the bottom of the lining. It’s visually discreet because it’s on the inside however, it doesn’t feel soft. I wish that it had been sown elsewhere so that it has no contact with my animal’s body. And lastly, this carrier does not have that awful chemical smell that so many things have. It has no smell at all. I think this is gonna last the lifetime of my pet, and I hope that’s a very long time. Happy snuggly days ahead to us all! 🙂 UPDATE: I found that after washing this carrier, the tag inside was soft. No longer stiff. And I attached a video so you can see I took my guy whale watching with me and it was perfect. I forgot i had it on. I stood with him for 4 hours on the windy boat and he was fine the whole time inside. (Ok watch the video, maybe we won’t go again lol.)

I ordered it to take my chihuahua which is my support animal every where with me. It’s a great and very safe to have your little one in there

I bought this for our 12lb Havanese boy specifically because it had said "hard bottom" support. This is not true. While the overall bag is nice looking and very thick material (warm as well), the bottom support makes it useless for us.Our dog was being awkwardly rolled up into a ball while the bottom support folded in on itself. We used it several times and now our dog is scared of it because it was so uncomfortable for him. We then decided to get an actual 'hard bottom' dog bag (most are not) and are much happier with the support and our dog isn't afraid of bags anymore.

I have tried many carry bags for my 7.5 lb pup and this one seems to be the most comfortable for her and the most comfortable for me. She likes hanging one of both paws off the edge of the bag and seems very content when she is being carried. It fits close to front of my body, so there is very little 'bounce' for her to have to deal with. For me, the width and paddedness (I do not think that is a real word, but now it is) put less pressure on the area between my neck and shoulder than other straps. My reason for a 4 for comfort, is that I wish there was just a little more or make the strap even wider to that is curls around the shoulder (think a cupped shoulder pad) to further reduce pressure. Something to consider is that while this bag is not really shallow, my pup seems to do well with it because she is calm when carried. I dog that has difficult remaining still or is bigger than about 8 lbs, might not be as comfortable with this bag or it might be difficulty to contain them. The bottom has some support but it does bend - this is something to take into consideration for some dogs as well. My pup and I love it though. My rating for sturdiness was a 4 out of 5 because the pocket (which is big enough to hold a galaxy s8) zipper stopped closing the day after my 30 days. It still works as an unzipped pocket, but that was a bummer. Regardless, for smaller, calmer dogs - 2 thumbs up.
