It was really easy to change out the old batteries and install new ones.

This was a fantastic fix for a JBL Flip 4 that had stopped holding a charge! I installed the battery, charged it before use, and it's still running off of that charge 5 - 6 weeks later, with daily use averaging 45 minutes.The instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow. What they didn't account for was the possibility of a bulged / swollen original battery, which was almost impossible to remove. If you have this problem, unscrew the power port to gain access to the back end of the battery, and push the old battery out of the housing using a nonmetallic object, such as a chopstick. Once that was done, everything went together very easily.For less than $30, this was a great value over buying a replacement speaker!

I did run into a few differences between the instructional video and my speaker. As my end cap didn't twist off, but needed to be pried off the access the battery compartment. Otherwise everything else was as expected.I did a search on why my speaker kept shutting off, even though it showed fully charged. Article mentioned that the problem was a faulty battery. This kit was featured, and the video showed that it wasn't difficult to replace.The speaker actually sounds better than it had before, and played a dozen songs with no stopping. When before the replacement I would almost get two songs then the speaker would disconnect.I have another Flip4, that's working well, but if I notice a significant difference in sound quality and battery life, I may replace its battery too.

Reserving final review for battery life, but can comment on installation. First off, the supplied CD would not run on my computer w/o loading a third party app. Not going to happen. No big deal as YouTube has a NewPower99 video that worked like a charm. Little plastic pry bar worked just fine (I saw at least one review that had a negative comment towards). Speaker came apart just as video eluded to, until battery removal. The particular video I watched showed the person applying quite a bit of froce to remove the battery. I ened up pulling the connecting wire completely out of the battery and had to use a pair of pliers to extract old battery.Putting speaker back together again was good until I had to put the frame back on. I had to install it opposite of what the video showed.Overall battery replacement was fairly easy for a low grade DIYer. Will check back when I use for a while to see what battery life looks like.

Plastic tool in kit was worthless junk and broke on first attempt to open speaker. Kit was returned to seller with Amazon approved mailing slip but my account has not been credited.

This battery replacement was really easy and enjoyable. Following the video,please- it's really helpful.

The disassembly directions on YouTube eventually led to the battery being replaced. That said, there is greater potential to damage the speakers and electronics than I expected. The replacement battery did not come with the same sponge cushions found on the original. This meant the battery was free inside the speaker body and rattled. Consequently, I had to tease the sponge cushions off the old battery and apply to the replacement. This meant 2 installations. The replacement does not hold as much charge and has to be recharged more frequently than the original. Based on the cost of the replacement battery versus the price of a new JBL Flip 4 speaker, I would not buy the battery kit again.
