Q: what is the difference between the 52-A-890-0006B and 6C

Q: 52-a-890-0006b 52-a-890-0006c what are the differences if any?

B is packaged in a Box, C is packaged in one of those plastic (bet you can't open me) Clamshell packages.

Q: Does it matter how you mount weather you mount vertical or horizontal or flat or upside down

If you protect it from the weather it should not matter how you mount it. It will be hard to see when it turns red, empty, if it is upside down. I put part of a plastic soda bottle over mine to protect it from the weather.

Q: Can you manually switch the tank being used?

You cannot change tanks manually unless you turn off one tank and leave the other tank on at the tank valve. The dial on this regulator is only there to show the current state of the tank it is pointing to. If one tank empties when both tank valves are open, then it turns red so you know that tank is empty. It shows red even though it automatically started pulling from the full tank. It don't control which tank gas flows from, just the state of the tank its pointing too. If you see red, you know that tank is empty. You then turn the dial to the other tank and it will show green until it runs out. You just have to remember that the opposite tank is empty and will need refilled sometime before the full one empties. If you just move the dial around to check the state of each tank if they both have some quantity of gas inside, it will not stay green. For it to show the opposite tank it is pulling from, you would have to have some appliance on, turn off the tank that it is pulling from, turn off that tanks valve. It will then turn red since it is acting like it is out of gas with the valve off, and will start pulling from the other tank. It will stay red until you turn the dial to green and point to the tank that it in use. Can be confusing.
