My brother went to culinary arts school and when he passed, I inherited many of his prized knives. This bag was the perfect way to store them with care into an efficient bundle that I can keep safely within reach - even in my small kitchen. So, I work in the service industry and have had my knives with me for years, so, yes eventually would need to replace my knife bag. I've always loved oiled look of the roll bags so I thought I'd not only get a new one but a bigger one because I purchased more knives. This one has a lot of knife pockets and the side zipper pocket for my knife glove, pens or the edge/point covers that I got with a knife. I'd usually only have an 8" chef's knife, 10" Wide chef's knife and my sharpening steel because all I've ever really needed. Usually. Now, I use a paring knife, a straight 10" salmon knife and a filleting knife, plus kitchen shears. So I needed a lot of pockets, which is what I got, just not how I wanted them. Don't get me wrong,I have more pockets then knives which is good but with my wide chef's knife I have nowhere to put it now. The pockets allow ease of storage and access for all of my other knives but not by 10" Wide chefs knife. If I put it in a pocket I'd either slice try the stitching and make a bigger slot then I'd need or the handle would be sticking up and the inner handle cover would be pointless and so would the knife roll-bag. Now I'm less one knife but still happy. It's a good quality roll-bag for knife, just be aware that if you keep your knives super sharp, and who wants a dull blade, you night possibly puncture the exterior abs ends up either cutting yourself or stab yourself accidentally. Not fun at all, but still a great bag and bang for your buck

I am just a guy who likes to cook and hates dull knives. I use this roll to haul my knives with me when I travel so I can cook. It's sturdy, practical and looks good.

I almost didn't order this because of mixed reviews, but on first inspection I think this a great knife roll...I'm not sure what people expect really. It is durable and made from heavy canvas. People have commented that it is shipped folded and appears warn... this is true however, I think this adds to its character. It is rustic looking, but it is canvas and army green at that. It holds 9 knives and has a small spot for a honing steel plus a narrow zipper pocket for tweezers, pens, peelers, or whatever you choose. What I love most about this is it is a true knife roll and rolls up tight. The knives are well protected and secure. I purchased Chef Sac blade covers and they fit perfectly into the knife slots to protect the roll from the sharp knife blades. This roll allows you to either store the knives with the handle in the pocket or with blades sliding into the pockets...both ways work well, it's a matter of preference and knife brand. Either way, I would always reccomend blade protectors no matter what knife roll/bag you buy. This is going to last a very long time. I am a professional Chef and have owned many knife rolls and so far, this is my favorite.

This works well enough, and was relatively inexpensive, but all the slots are the exact same size. So my 8" chefs knife BARELY fits in the slot, and actually cuts the slot a little. Some of my tongs fit, other tongs do not. My parings knives easily slip out.I bought this to bring knives, and BBQ gear to my bbq, or to a remote kitchen when I travel, but I wouldn't recommend this because it's not flexible enough. I like it in every other way though.
