OEM decent oil filters
These are good for easy twist on and Off of your oil filter. Much better than the cartridge models, and often the same or less in cost, which makes ZERO sense. Imagine you sell just the inside paper without the metal shell and charge a good chunk more for it. And they do it because we are more docile than Dolly the sheep. This is good for a 4cylinder 2002 Highlander engine. If using synthetic, I would change the oil and this filter every 5500-7000 miles. And on these engines, the valve cover gasket is known to leak. Fix it before it messes up the alternator, as the oil drips into it.

Say no to the orange ones
If you have an oil filter cutter, you'll like these. Because you can cut apart other brands, then compare them to these. I'm not real concerned with claimed filtration in microns of the various brands, and I cannot test that. But I can see the workmanship. One loose blob of glue, filter paper, or speck of weld...on the wrong side of the filter media, will head right for a rod, main, or cam bearing and wipe it out. Careful manufacturing reduces the chances of that. The shrink wrap over the business end of the filter helps keep other FOD out from external sources. Shipping a filter without that is done by a company that doesn't pay attention. The orange brand just looks like crap when you cut them open, but at least they spend a lot on advertising, right?
