ZojirushiCD-CC50 VE Hybrid Water Boiler and Warmer (169oz, Dark Brown)

I love this brand and the craftsmanship. I actually wish Zojirushi made more kitchen appliances, I think they'd wipe the floor with so many brands - the quality and reliability are fantastic. My unit has been ON 24/7 since April 2021 with ZERO issues! (its May 2025 now!). Run the cleaning routine monthly and you should be good to go! It'll last a lifetime.

This hot water container makes ir so easy to keep hot water for tea and coffee making.Whenever we need hot water like for Ramen, it is ready!We like it so much We bought it for our family members and some of our friends.

Old one last 5 years of 7x24 hours use. I study to find a better one but cannot find. This is currently the best choice. I bought another bigger one, and the parts are exchangeable.The lid is plastic and may need change after two or three years usage, but the part can be found on Zojirushi website.I wish it has a pure stainless steel interior which will be healthier, but the stainless steel ones currently I can find are all low quality choices. If Zojirushi has stainless steel model which also supports super VE, I would like to buy it again.This boiler is stable and power efficient. When you shop for boiler, you need to consider the power consumption for keeping warm, it differentiates from different models, it will save a lot of energy and money on 7x24 long run.

****UPDATE**January 2019****A family member came to visit and loved using my Zoji. He admitted to being spoiled after using it and he could never go back to boiling water the old fashioned way. I surprised him with this 5 liter model as a housewarming gift for his new home.*****UPDATE*****April 14th, 2016*****I would still recommend this product. I still love it and use it daily.Buy the citric acid cleaner when you get this boiler.The boiler does need to be cleaned more frequently if you have hard water like I do. I would definitely recommend the Zojirushi citric acid cleaner. It comes in a box with four packets. This is a must have. It is very easy to use.When you first use this boiler it will be silent until the alert sounds that your water is hot. You will notice that you can hear it working after the calcium deposits have built up. This is an indication that the boiler needs to be cleaned. My pot was coated with the white calcium deposits all up and down the inner walls. I dissolved three packets in a measuring cup filled with hot water, dumped that in the pot and filled it to the line with cold water and set it for cleaning mode. The instructions call for one packet. Also, be aware that there is a little inverted basket at the bottom of the pot. The instructions say to take this out and clean it buy hand. Mine is still coated with the water deposits after cleaning but is not clogged. I am considering replacing it if it happens to clog.I am still really happy with this purchase.****Original review below*****Do not be intimidated by the large instruction booklet as I was. This product is very easy to use. I mastered how to use it after my first use. Easy peasy.I purchased the 5 Liter, stainless dark brown. I wasn't sure how this would look with my other stainless and black appliances. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it goes well without clashing with the other kitchen items.With shipping and tax my total came to just under $230. Well worth the price if I do say so myself. I have other high end kitchen appliances that I paid much more for and don't use daily or weekly.I have used this daily since it first landed on my doorstep March 15th, 2015. My well loved electric kettle had recently died after many years of service to me. I was looking to upgrade from my 6 cup kettle because I tend to use my hot water for cooking as well as tea or coffee. The convenience of not having to choose whether to make a cup a tea or to begin cooking my dinner with the water I just boiled will definitely not be missed. I refill this at least 2x a day. On my day off I have been known to refill the pot 3 to 4x.I first came across the Zojirushi brand when I was considering the purchase of a small bread maker I had seen on a shopping channel. I went on to read the reviews about that bread maker and found them all to be highly favorable. Everyone seemed to enjoy the bread maker. Later I went and explored their website and found Zojirushi made a host of other products. I found more reviews speaking in favor of other products they manufactured. It was a no brainer to go with this water boiler.I am very happy with my purchase.

Very practical water heater, heating very quickly, the material is also very good

Had our last one for many years. This updated model seems to heat up and retain heat more efficiently.

We've had another Zojirushi water boiler before but the plastic cap under the lid had a screw that fell off due to the plastic melting. We've had that model for a very long time. Instead of replacing the lid which you could do easily, we decided to upgrade to a newer model.It is a solid water boiler, especially if you have elders with/without dementia. It's accident proof and very easy to use. The big orange button helps them remember how to dispense. The built quality is chef's kiss and I can tell because as soon as you let go of the button it will not drip. I can't say the same after a few years of use but it will not be unusable.
