So what are the alternative options to this bracket?

With a little coaxing and some light sanding to make the barrels fit, I was able to make this work on my OnGuard lock: https://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-Transit-FlexFrame-Bracket-Bicycle/dp/B005YPKLLE/. It gets mixed reviews as well, but I've had one on each bike for months now without any issues. My wife rides a mixte (no good places to mount a lock bracket), so she straps her lock to her back rack or puts it in her pannier.

What is the type of plastic the black sections are made of?

It is made of hard plastic but it also broke which was why I needed to exchange it.

Does the mount include the bracket that attaches to the tube?

If I'm reading this correctly, then perhaps the person that asked has the same issue I do. All the parts that come in the package are pictured. However, in order for the lock to actually attach to this clamp, the lock itself must have a clamp spline. That part is not included, and therefore I am not able to use this.

Reviews say what was received isn't what's pictured. Anyone have a link to what was actually received? This is only Onguard specific mount I can find
