These dried onions are brilliant. I pour boiling water on them, stick them in the microwave for three minutes, then fry them off in oil. I put them in anything savoury: curries, stews, pies, casseroles, soup, sage and onion stuffing etc. They save masses of work and mess and they avoid tears and an onion smell in the kitchen. These "Old India" onion flakes are really cheap but they rehydrate to long lengths of onion and they taste good. I also throw in a few granules of Old India garlic when I rehydrate the onions for added flavour. Make sure you get the kibbled ones as the lengths of onion are longer.

So when is an onion not an onion? When you don't have to peel and chop them and deal with the stink/tears, but still get the sweet, tasty, oniony flavour in your food. That's what this product gives you. All you have to do is scoop up good amount from the bag, throw it in your stew/soup/frying pan and cook as normal and you end up with a very pleasant oniony component to your meal with ZERO effort! Seriously, it really is as easy as scoop, cook and eat, I can't believe I've not heard about this before now. Buy some before I buy them all out of stock!!!

I wish I had thought of buying this years ago! So versatile, so handy, so tasty, and economical too. No more carrying onions back from the supermarket. No more waste as I throw away the two that go rotten before I can use them. Excellent! I will definitely buy again.

I have been looking for dried onion to make crispy onion for my favourite dishes. The ready made crispy onion always have a coating which is niot suitable for my dishes and they also lack the sweet taste. This dried onion is amazingly good, they retained the sliced onion shape and not crushed, taste sweet. I am so delighted with my dried onion. If the quantity is smaller e.g 250gm bag it will be helpful to keep it fresh.
