Good but not as tough as advertised
The first Tuffy I bought my dog was Paisley the pig from Costco and it’s lasted several months before my dog was able to make any holes in it. My dog is one of those “fluff and squeaker out in 10 minutes” types and I was impressed with the quality of a paisley the pig.So I figured I would buy another one because the quality of the first one was so good. I ordered the elephant Tuffy, which says it has a durability of 8 (more than the Paisley the pig). It’s been 4 days and my dog has already ripped through to the stuffing.I was so hoping that these Tuffy dog toys would be a good investment especially with such a high price point relative to other dog toys. Now I’m not so sure how good of an investment it was at $36 just for the elephant.

Not strong enough for my pitubll
My dogged ripped off the ears, tusks and leg off first day.He got a good amount of stuffing out but integrity of the toy isn't ruined just yet so he's still having fun with itIt's very sturdy for a toy, I'm impressed with the feel and quality of it, its well made. My dog is just too much for this toy.

Good, but didn’t last long
A very sturdy, tough toy, but between two lab dogs, it didn’t last long. We need toys that last, and this lasted maybe 3 weeks (if that) It would be good for a smaller dog or a dog that does not chew too much.

Great toy - safe and my dogs love it
My dogs LOVE this elephant, and also the Tuffy Bunny. They haul it around and sleep with it. Although they've been able to rip it a bit, it's still holding together and I'm not worried about them getting into the stuffing. One of my dogs is an extremely determined ripper. He shreds everything. He had $6000 surgery because he ate the stuffing from a stuffed animal that combined with the sticks he chewed on and strings from a rope toy and completely blocked the exit from his stomach. So it's been over a year since he's been allowed to have ANY toy like that. I found these when looking for something for the dogs for Christmas and I'm really pleased. They've been at them for 4 weeks and the only sign of it is that the part where the bunny ear attaches to the head is starting to pull away a bit. I will never leave them alone with any stuffed animal again, but I feel totally confident that it would take a significant, sustained effort for the dogs to get into the guts of these toys!

Good toys, but not as tough as they used to be
I purchase Tuffy toys almost exclusively for our two dogs and honestly, they do not seem to be as tough as they used to be. When I first started purchasing them about 5 years ago, I had a puppy that could destroy a tennis ball in about 5 minutes flat. These toys kept her busy for months. However, now they only last literally a matter of hours. We recently bought two new ones and our 3 year old dog had one of them ripped open at the seams within the first 30 minutes. Now, I still give 3 stars because even though they bust the seams almost immediately, the toys are PACKED full of stuffing and our dogs still get about a month of enjoyment out of them, gutting them! But just know, they CAN be cracked pretty quickly!

Good for LARGE dogs
I really like all of the Tuffy toys my dogs and I have had! This one is especially cool and very large. My Great Dane loved it. That being said, the elephants butt was a little easier for my dogs to make a hole in than some of the other Tuffy creatures. None of these toys are meant to be chew toys but my dogs found this elephants tail to be quiet irresistible and once a hole was in his butt the stuffing just HAD to come out! Still though this toy is very well made, the price on Amazon is one of the best you will find, and it's a great toy for multiple dogs to play with at the same time!

Great Tuffy toy!
My 2 year old boxer has chewed up every stuffed toy we have gotten him, but this one poses a challenge! He's had it for a few weeks and has successfully severed just one tusk (which is sewn separately onto the elephant and does not allow more stuffing to be pulled out). He loves to sling it around, so the weight seems like extra fun to him. Would definitely recommend!*Update 2-19-16*Well, he has taken off an ear, so I left it off and just sowed the head back up. And now he's gotten part of a leg off, which I will try to figure out how to fix because he loves it so much. Really thought this one might've lasted longer, but I guess he's just really good at de-stuffing toys....and proving my husband right.

World's Tuffest Soft Dog Toy - Zoo Elephant
I have a 6 month old Vizsla and he semi-destroyed this toy in 20 minutes or less. I don't blame the toy or manufacturer.......he is just the most destructive dog I have ever owned. I wish that I could purchase these kind of toys for him, but they just don't last. I hope you have better luck with your pup.

Emery the Elephant Isn’t Tuffy Enough
Purchased Emery for my nine month old puppy. I have other Tuffy toys that are fifteen years old, still intact, and has made the test of time and durability with five other dogs. The toy is not inexpensive at almost £29. After one week, Emery is missing a tusk. Should be noted that my puppy doesn’t chew any of his toys. He carries and throws them, rinse and repeat. Emery is now awaiting surgery to repair the missing tusk hole.

nice tuff toy for dogs to enjoy
Super toy. Larger than you might think, but perfect for cocker spaniels and larger breeds. The tail, tusks and ears (and trunk) are the first to be chewed and pulled off but with a bit of nifty stitching you can have it good as new in no time.My lot are chewers and like to find a way in to destuff, and eventually they do. But even after most of the stuffing is gone, what is left is something that they carry around like a rag and play with, so it really does have longevity if you don't mind the stuffing clearing up. Many toys I have bought them last literally seconds before squeaker is out and stuffing fills the rug, but the Tuffy toys last several days before they get into them (I still have some intact) and I still have the remains that are played with regularly. So all in all a value piece of kit that dogs love!

My mini labradoodle ripped it in 20 minutes
The idea of this was amazing, the video showing a tiger having a god at it and not damaging it, I thought great, finally an item my dog won’t rip through like butter.....but sadly that wasn’t the case, writhing 20 minutes she had tore into it, within half an hour the stuffing was out and it was in the bin. So either my little 2 year old miniature labradoodle is tougher than a tiger or this product shouldn’t be advertised as a tough dog toy. Disappointing

Didn't last long
Unfortunately this toy did not last long with our Pointer who was quickly able to start damaging the fabric despite only being offered it as a supervised toy.Seller provided a refund and all was well.

Puppy Destroys Elephant - Very Disappointed
Our 6 month old Cockapoo puppy has been able to destroy the toy within about 2 days of being given it. The back tie has completely gone an the ears have been puller apart! See the photo attached. Also after ripping one of the elephants tusks off, started to choke when he tried to eat the stuffing. In comparison he has other toys which do not look as well built and are still well intact. Will keep you updated as destruction continues. Needless to say hardly a tough toy!
