Now I've worked it out it is brilliant. The on/off switch does work. Press for 3 secs to turn off or to charge. Press on/off switch ONCE to heat up - it will flash red but gets hot really quickly. I can see now why if you don't use the protective casing when not in use it could turn on accidentally.My hair is a nightmare. It's very fine and flyaway, chin length, a graduated bob which never holds its style for 5 minutes, even with (miracle !) products. Now it's got a curl and body which certainly lasts all day and even survives the night.Maybe just my hair type but it's proved great for me. Oh yes, if you are on the move and you run out of mobile charge and your hairstyler is charged you can top up your phone. Genius!

Despite a few negative reviews, I find this little gem of a curling tongs amazing. It heats up very quickly and is everything I had hoped it would be. I have fairly short hair but I’m sure it would work just as well on longer hair as It’s easily equal to the electric tongs I used when my hair was longer. Brilliant for travel as its small and light. It does need to be charged regularly but that’s no hardship as it just plugs into any USB port. Handy to have as a back up phone charger too! Clever idea!Overall I am delighted and have no issue in recommending.

Heating instructions poor, heated up on first attempt then couldn’t heat again (outdoor have been user error).So small just not worth it. Bit useless really sorry! Sent back

This curling wand is an ideal travelling companion. Being a frequent flier they are light and compact, also USB charging instead of gas or a chord is a real boon. The only downside for me is that I burnt my finger twice as they are very compact but having said that I wouldn’t be without them. The charge lasts for the duration of styling and beyond and they are quick to recharge. The safety casing does it’s job.

Not sure about ordering after reading some of the reviews but so glad I did. They heat up fast and do the job well. I bought them for travel but use them at home as well as they are easier and lighter than my other tongs. Much better for my arthritis. There is a cover over the switch to prevent it being turned on accidentally so my concern sorted.

Should have been great. It heats up quickly, lasts long enough to do my whole hair. But that was also its downfall. Turned out the switch wasn’t as sturdy as it looked. It switched itself on in my bag and burned a dress that was near to it. Now it just feels dangerous.I bought this curler to use when travelling, but it’s no longer convenient. Such a shame because it should have been great. I wouldn’t recommend this curler just because the on/off switch has switched itself on a few times now as there is no lock.

Small so easy to pack, curls hair quick, works for long and short hair, I originally brought it to take to festivals and it was amazing! Now I use it at home too instead of my wired curlers as this creates the nicest curls! 1 full charge does my shoulder length hair twice, or my sisters very long hair once! Highly recommend

I love my new curling iron

This is a very practical curler for travel and my wife loves it: nice design, easy to use and pretty compact. Also the user manual (instructions for use) are really good. We purchsed this portable curler a year ago and our expectations to this product are still fully met.

It sucks! The charging cord that came with it does not work, so we substituted it for our own. It charged exactly once. Every attempt after that, using several different power cords, have failed. It’s a piece of junk.
