Great quality and fun to use
This grill pan heats evenly and makes perfect takoyaki every time. The nonstick surface works really well, and the batter flips easily with no mess. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, and fits perfectly on a small gas burner. Great for making takoyaki, pancake balls, or even mini omelets at home. Definitely worth it for anyone who loves Japanese street food.

Very Satisfied Customer!
IWATANI TAKOYAKI Grill pan cooking plate CB-P-TAF I'm very pleased with the quality of this item. I suspect those negative reviews for "knock-off" items must not be about the same item or from the same seller. When ordering, make sure to order the item marked as "IWATANI TAKOYAKI Grill pan cooking plate CB-P-TAF by Iwatani : Sold by Tokyo Wind and Fulfilled by Amazon." At 8-inch x 8-inch (8 x 10 inches including handles) and 1.65 lb, it has a sold feel, very similar to waffle maker. Diameter of the hole is approx. 1 and 5/8 inches / 40 mm. Here is the list of features I like about this Takoyaki grill pan. The 4 notches on the bottom corners align with the gas burner grate for secure placement. The 8 mm lip on the surface helps prevent batter spills. Easy clean and use, non-stick surface. (Be sure to use non-abrasive utensils) The ridge details between the holes simplifies the task of separating batters. Note: Mine didn't come with English instructions. The instructions and batter recipe are printed on the back of the product box in Japanese. (See photo). You can use pancake/waffle batter on this, too!

Authentic Takoyaki at Home
We used this for a Japanese-themed dinner and it made perfect takoyaki balls - seriously took me right back to eating them in Yokosuka 20 years ago. The pan is high quality and worked great on our gas stove with even heat distribution across all the wells. Flipping the octopus balls was easy and they came out with that perfect crispy exterior. If you're looking to make authentic takoyaki at home instead of just dreaming about it, this pan delivers. The construction feels solid and durable, so it'll hold up to plenty of Japanese cooking nights. Totally worth it for anyone who loves takoyaki or wants to expand their cooking skills

Easy to use
Works as it should! The only reason I took one star off is because the grooves at the bottom don’t fit right with my gas range grill.

Excellent takoyaki pan
Works great. The takoyaki ball size is perfect. The small channels in-between each cup help to divide up the batter evenly and when not making a full pan keep the batter from going everywhere (although it can still spill over into another cup. As the pan is intended for a camp stove, it may not fit perfectly on your stove top, but fortunately it fit well on mine. Heats evenly but may depend upon how it sits on your stove (i.e. if it doesn't sit well directly above the burner.

Great plate for takoyaki
Good package and shipping was ok This pan is well made and it conduct heat very well. I set it on the normal gas stove with medium heat and it produces as well cooked takoyaki. Besides, the ball size it produces is very comparable to most renown JP restaurants that sell it. So, it does meet the expectation. Washing and cleaning is also very easy (I hand wash with sponge and soap effortlessly). Unfortunately, since I bought this. It made me feel like making takyaki is like making pan cake (in terms of how easy it is to do) so I did it so many times within a short span. The problem is that I am now quite satisfied with the ability and the taste of it. so, my drive to cook more often has drastically decreased. This pan is back in the box and patiently await my crave for takoyaki to rise up again !!

Well-Made Pan That Delivers Perfect Takoyaki
The Iwatani Takoyaki Grill Pan is sturdy, heats evenly, and makes perfectly round takoyaki every time. The nonstick surface works great — batter comes out clean without much oil, and cleanup is fast and easy. It’s a bit smaller than I expected, but perfect for home use or small gatherings. Overall, a high-quality pan that makes cooking takoyaki fun and authentic.

Non-stick, but heavy as iron
This is an aluminum pan, but it's built thick and tough. Honestly, it weighs almost as much as a cast iron version, but has a spectacular non-stick coating those all lack. It's easy to use on a standard gas stove. Just keep your burner about Medium, and use an infrared thermometer to hold the pan about 400F. I made pancake balls as a test, and had no problems turning with a bamboo skewer. I then made takoyaki, and nailed it on my first try. This was probably not related to skill. Honestly, the pan gets the win. Cleanup with the non-stick was easy as blasting it down in the sink. That was a win for me.

Parfait !
Bref. Ce produit me donne pleinement satisfaction.

Itadakimasu! (Guten Appetit)

Perfecta!!
Me encanta!!!

Highly recommended for takoyaki lovers!
I purchased this item after so much thought about wanting to make takoyaki at home. Definitely I will say it’s 100% worth it to buy. Pan fits on my portable burner I bought from local store. It heats up evenly and fast. It is also nonstick so cleaning up is very easy. I’ve used it for many times now and it’s still in good condition.
