Hillsdale Furniture Madison Bed Set, Queen, Textured Black

We had a new king size bed, and wanted a nice bedframe. We found this one and are very pleased with it so far. It was easy to put together, and it is just the look I want. It seems very sturdy. We have only had it a few weeks, but so far I am very pleased.My son bought one online that seems heavier and sturdier than ours, but they paid at least twice, maybe more as much as we did. We could not afford that one, and are Pleased with what we have.

I am very happy with my purchase from beginning to end. We communicated directly with the company's support people via email. They responded quickly to our questions and as such we felt very comfortable ordering this bed set. It arrived in perfect condition. The pieces are deceivably light weight, which is good, especially when putting together a king size bed. Even though the pieces are lightweight, when put together the bed is very sturdy.One thing I didn't realize until we unpacked the 2 pieces is that the headboard and the footboard are the exact same pieces! Really! Whichever piece you choose to screw into the tall bed poles becomes the headboard. Then you screw the other piece into the short bed poles and they become the footboard.We have very little furniture assembly experience. We took it slow and within maybe 2 hours we completed the assembly.I recommend the Hillsdale Madison Bed set King.

Great headboard and footboard. Really pretty in person. Comes with all necessary hardware. Easy to put together. The only issue i have is that because the bed does not come with rails, you have to purchase your own separately. Which is fine, but until you get the bed, you won't know the dimensions of what rails you need to get. Meaning you could buy rails that are to high or to low and don't line up with the predrilled holes in the headboard and footboard which was a real inconvenience.

Headboard and footboard are nice, BUT it does not have a frame. You have to buy a frame and then spend hours and hours and hours looking for an extension in order to put on the footboard. Then the extentions don't work with this foot board, so you have to spend hours and hours and hours looking for parts to try to make this work. I still have not found the parts required, so my footboard is quite wobbly. I did order two other bed headboard/footboard sets and they came with the frame and went up in minutes and they look beautiful. This one does not! DON'T ORDER!

This is a very pretty bed . Pictures don't do it justice. It was packaged very well. The four wood post are solid and heavy. Very pretty color too. I like iron beds. Always have. But this one is pretty with the wood post. It's very sturdy and solid. I moved put to a king bed from a queen. I'm using this with a memory foam mattress from Dynasty. I did have to buy a metal frame for this to hold the mattress, as it has no box spring. But the head board and foot board hooked right up with no problem. The price was awesome. Most iron beds this inexpensive are flimsy and no good. Not this one! It's real nice!

Had this set for about 6 years now and it still is sturdy. Well worth the price

Recieved this product today and i must admit that i was a little skepical of the description being "vauge" so you can usually tell by the shipping weight on the quality of rod iron products. This bed is very clearly labled 94 lbs. which would make it a good quality bed right?? Well the actual weight is less than 50 # and is hollow tube metal and doesnt come with a frame. So if you are shopping for a good quality bed at a decent price look elsewhere.

I love the look of the headboard and footboard - very elegant. Just make sure before ordering that you have a metal bed frame that will be compatible with a headboard AND a footboard because this set does not come with it. I ordered this thinking I had what I needed but when I got my order I realized I had a bed frame that was only meant for a headboard - not both. I'm not docking any stars from this review though, as that mistake was purely mine and this set is just gorgeous! Priced very reasonably for the quality. If you need a metal bed frame to work in conjunction with these pieces, I recommend looking on Walmart's website. Based on the reviews for the metal frames on Amazon vs. Walmart, Walmart's frames had better reviews and were more consistent. I ordered one today and should have it by next week. Once I receive it, I will update this review with what I think of the set once it's all put together.
