Protium Ultimate 150 D5 Pump & Reservoir Combo (Stand Alone), Black/Acetal

This res combo is working flawlessly. I love that there are plenty of port options on both top and bottom. I paired this with a D5 pwm pump (Swifttech) I had in a previous system. I also like ports are flat side of the res and pump top, unlike some of the other competitors.

I was really excited for this product. I've always been a fan of Singularity Computers on YouTube and am extremely disappointed.This isn't my first water cooled build so I'm familiar with the time and patience it takes.I started to fill the loop and allowed the fluid to circulate for about a minute. Shortly after, fluid began pouring out of the bottom of the pump cover. I disassembled the loop and the pump kit to verify the o-ring integrity and was surprised to find after tightening the cover the pump top had completely pushed the o-ring down over the pump itself. I thought i had made a mistake and maybe overtightened the cover. I reassembled the entire kit and loop and tried again. Again, fluid began leaking from the top and bottom of the pump cover. After draining and disassembling the loop for the second time I found the o-ring had been completely pushed over the lip of the pump by the pump top again.I'm returning this kit and purchasing the EKWB pump/res combo.Another side note; the normal long screws that come with the radiator were not long enough to make it through the mounting bracket. You will need a set of screws about 1 to 2 mm longer.

Pros:High quality materials-every part had weight to it. The reservoir was clear and included port plugs are made of metal and sturdy.Adjustable direction of top ports: if you search for this Singularity Pump/Res combo on youtube you will see how the top set of ports can be adjusted to face any direction. Not all reservoirs have this option.Cons: no included instructions, or online-you need to know what you are doing to install this into your water cooling loop. Top is Inlet, Bottom is Outlet, and it is a good idea to watch the YouTube video for an overview of installationNO WARNING OF THE OPEN PORT BETWEEN THE MOUNTING BRACKET for the pump/res to your radiator. This is a serious oversight, and caused my loop to leak a bunch of coolant before I found out about this. Just remember to plug this port up asap or you could be in for a bad surprise.Overall this was a quality product and miles ahead of my original bay reservoir included in a kit. However, documentation should be improved.
