BOSCH GLL 2 Self-Correcting Cross Line Laser Level with Mounting Device (AA Batteries Included)

I wasnt sure how much I would use this, actually I debated whether I just just get a longer level to hang photos and some other odds and ends. After a few days of using this guys I was completely hooked. I repainted my garage with a two-tone pain and stripe in the middle and used this to outline the taping around the entire garage and it came out perfect. I've also used this to hang pictures, wall decorations and just about anything I can find a nail and hammer to get up, it takes the dreaded multi-nail hanging job and turns it into a piece of cake. The laser is highly visible and actually has quite a bit more area coverage than I thought was possible for a little level.One thing I struggled with early on that may help you is this really needs a tripod like Amazon Basics AmazonBasics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Bag. The real power of this guys is it's self-leveling ability, and out of the box I was confused because I was pointing it at angles and it would not work. Because of the float mechanism you can only angle it a few degrees before it loses accuracy, so the tripod was the perfect companion, which I use for this and my camera now.Overall this was an item I never new I needed as much as I have used it.

This is a great tool for precision art installations. I bought it for hanging paintings, especially multiple pieces that need to be hung level to each other. The unit seems durable enough with its hard plastic case. The laser beam intensity is clear and bright, when used indoors. (I don't see myself using it outdoors, so losing some brightness in bright daylight, as others have commented, is a non-issue for me.) When you release the lock, it take a brief moment to settle, but, as long as it sits on a firm surface or is mounted securely, you get a steady level line to work from. I sense that this is a sensitive, precision tool with its fluid self-leveling feature. So, use extra care not to drop it and engage the lock when it's being transported. I like the mount that's included. It's a bit finicky to get it set up properly but, once in place, it provides a sturdy base.Shelve your extra-long, extra-unwieldy levels and give this useful, portable tool a go.

I have used this for installing interior door as well as bathroom accessories and it works well. The line lock function is a mechanical switch on the side that when engaged throws the line off because of the stiffness of the switch; this needs improvement. I also had the similar Hammerhead unit that I had returned. Both the Bosch and Hammerhead function nearly identical and appear to have the same guts. However, I returned the Hammerhead (it came as a repackaged unit) because it started displaying double lines. The Bosch seems a little more heavy duty, but, I'm not sure it is worth the extra $15.

Lots of comments about the lock switch failing after so long. It happened to me too. I do expect better quality from a brand like Bosch. It is an easy fix, though. For anyone having this issue: I opened the unit up and just tightened the screw that holds the switch to the unit and it seemed to lock again. Make sure you don't lose any small parts.

I bought this laser after seeing a top 10 laser level review on-line. This is a great tool that I used to level my summer cottage. The line is difficult to see where there is any degree of sunlight, but I was able to direct the beam from under the cottage, which showed up very well. It made this daunting task so straight-forward. I am sure I will use it for multiple projects, as I am a DIY'er! For the price, this is a fantastic purchase!

Too complicated to use. I ended up returning this. Bosh makes some great products but this one is a fail. You have to have a clamp in order for this to work right.

This was bought for a tile job being done in a shower. As it turns out, it was probably one of the most critical pieces of equipment we used. All lines and tile levels were straight and true and was much easier than measuring and chalking lines. The visibility of this laser during day and night in lighted conditions was better than expected. I read a lot of reviews about it's ability to project a clear beam in day light conditions, however, that did not seem to be the case. I projected it on dark cabinets and light color walls, both were easily visible. I didn't have an opportunity to test it outside in the sunlight. The arm that comes with it is very helpful, the only thing I would have done different is to get a tripod. Finding a stable and easy to clamp location in the bathroom we were working on was a little difficult, especially when we were trying to get a beam straight on vs from one corner of the bathroom to a spot on a wall at a 45 degree angle. This forced us to try to find a spot on the other side of the bathroom which was sometimes difficult. Putting it on a tripod would have made this simple. VERY glad I bought this for the job, I'll never go back!

Super useful. Helped me a lot with hanging all the photo frames and drapes and i started using it whenever i can. Found out Low's had it at a cheaper price but its not a big difference

Saves me a bit of time. Definitely a part of my tool bucket.

Functions adequately but is difficult to use accurately with the included mount. Really needs to be on a tripod (not included) to be used properly. Replacing it with another that has a bundled tripod.
