Useful product
Useful product, bought for my Dad as his podiatrist advised him to buy this to apply to his toe with a cotton bud to help with healing, and it worked a treat! I thought he was hearing things when he asked me to get it, it the Podiatrist has written it down for him, who knew! Anyway it did a great job and I’m sure it’ll be useful around the home too.

Not the best value for money but still the same quality
At £3.45 for 250ml it certainly doesn't offer the same value for money that the 500ml or the 5L packages do but I have found it does have certain advantages. As a train driver I often work early shifts and find that a quick tot of Barrettine's gives me a great start to the day, sharpening my senses in fact I can honestly say I don't believe I ever passed a red light after my first shot of the day. It is with this in mind that the portability and discreetness of the 250ml has its advantages. The 250ml bottle will easily fit inside my uniform jacket whereas the 500ml is far too bulky. Some of my colleagues get around this problem by decanting from a larger, more cost effective bottle into a hip flask, but its just not the same. The sense of occasion; squeezing the child safety cap, fondling the braille or enjoying the vibrant purple luster... is all lost when you don't drink from an authentic Barrettine bottle. Besides how can you be sure it's the real deal, only last week (after a particularly long 16 hour shift on the West Coast Main Line, with a Glasgow - London drive still ahead of me) I ran out of my Barrettine and was offered a tot from my colleague's hip flask only to discover it was that Rustin rubbish instead!! I felt cheated and offended by this offering and haven't spoken with this person since.

Best for the Baroque
As a professional harpsichord player, touring with an internationally renowned baroque orchestra, and playing a priceless 1610 Andreas Ruckers instrument, I am as you can imagine, very choosy about the products I use. Barrettine methylated spirit has never let me down yet. The 250ml bottle sits discretely on the wrest plank, and holds just enough to get me through Bach's 5th Brandenburg concerto provided I only drink half the bottle before the cadenza, and the rest in sips between movements. Beware other makes. Rustins may see you through some trivia by Purcell, but last year during a performance of L'orfeo by Montiverdi, I necked a 500ml bottle of Rustins, mistook the page numbers for the figured bass, and got punched by the first violin. White spirit may be OK for a day with friends in the park, but for serious 18th century music, it has to be Barrettines finest.

Tut Tut Tut
Very disappointed with this purchase, wish I'd bought elsewhere much better options available. Does not live up to it's description at all.
