Works better than chain leashes!
Gus is 4 years old and still chews... he is mostly Aussie and Rat Terrior. So far this leash works great... very comfortable handle & just long enough for the dog to roam.

Pretty good for chewers
These are pretty good if your dog is a leash chewer. The outer handle is still soft rubber, so they will eat part of it. After that is gone, there’s not much more damage they can do, though. If your dog is a really strong puller, this thing has no give and they might knock you off your feet. You can get used to it, just be ready the first time.

Leash that has lasted the longest with a 100+lb puppy.
Only leash that has endured the puppy chews so far. Its also lighter than a chain leash which is a plus.

Very Sturdy
I like the handle on the leash, makes it easy to guide your dog.

The strength, and durability of this leash is what we needed for our dogs.
The quality and strength of these two BAAPET leashes – 5 Feet Chew Proof Dog Leash Coated Steel Cable Soft Padded Handle Small, Medium Large Dogs (Blue) – are superior to every other leash we have purchased. In the past, we have had three LEATHER leashes and more NYLON leashes than I care to divulge. We tried to keep the LEATHER and NYLON leashes away from our dogs by hanging each on a separate hook away from their area in the home (which is everywhere). However, being in a hurry, rushing here and there, with all the day’s activities led to careless placement of the leashes – parts of our home where the dogs could gain access to them.LEATHER nor NYLON are any match for our dog's teeth - when used as a chew toy. Now, with these new BAAPET leashes, the dogs leave them alone after a walk. No more tug-of-war as we often found happening with the LEATHER and NYLON.This new BAAPET is lightweight, yet exceptionally strong. Our dogs are each in the seventy-five-pound range – a Husky and Irish Setter.I am NEVER concerned that the dogs are going to cause a structural failure due to their body mass and strength. These BAAPET leashes have a heavy duty metal cable construction. The cable will NOT break if appropriately used for the application that it was designed: walking a dog. It was not intended to replace a heavy-duty chain for pulling a car out of a ditch. That may seem overly exaggerated to some, but I have witnessed far more irrational uses for conventional products. At each end of the metal rope (the handle and the clasp) are industrial strength 1 ¼” x ½” metal pinch clamps. It would not be possible for the clamps to be crimped on the metal cable with a hand crimper. The only possible way that these pinch clamps have been joined is with the use of an industrial metal crimping machine. Nine years as a Mechanical Designer and the last five years as a Mechanical Engineer have provided me with this awareness. The leash is more than strong enough and durable enough to walk and train your dog.The handle is one of the features that appeals to me with a very comfortable covering. The handle does not get wrapped around my fingers (or my wife’s fingers) which can be very painful with a dog tugging on the other end.I want to be very clear about what I am about to share: I was not hired to write this review or am I being compensated in any way. I do not personally know or am I acquainted with anyone from the company that produces and sales the BAAPET leashes. We just wanted a VERY GOOD LEASH, and that is what we have now. We have stopped wasting money on inferior products and are very pleased with our purchase and the results we have experienced. I hope that all who read this review will share the same positive benefits of the BAAPET dog leash.

Almost perfect!
OK, so she managed to chew through the little rubber caps, and she's done her best to chew through the leash itself but so far this is the ONLY leash she hasn't destroyed. I swear she has piranha teeth... At least with this leash she won't actually get away from me.

Good Solution
Deters puppy leash chewing with comfortable handle
J**.
Gets bound up and will have to rotate handle sometimes.
Looks just like the pic, works very well. Seems easier to get the dog untangled because of the stiffness.

As described
pros: It is chew proof as stated, very strong and comfortable handle.Cons: It is hard to hold anywhere else, scared of it getting wrapped around the dogs neck as it is wire!

Chew-Proof but hard to hold & control
A big tick for this product is that my dog can't bite through it. But overall, the lead is very uncomfortable to use. It's too long to control a dog effectively - extremely hard to grip the cable to shorten lead when crossing the road &/or when approaching dogs. The handle doesn't enable a firm grip either.
