Pac-Man Connect and Play Console-12 Built in Retro Arcade Games

Great item this console no bigger than a router crafted into a shape of 'pac-man' cartoon does require AA batteries and possibly an extension especially when your sofa is more than 3 metres away.. basically everything is built in and lets you have a whale of a time with the arcade pac-man game that was popular in those days!...

This plug and play console makes for a great nostalgia trip. There are retro consoles available that have more games and that are more flexible (in terms of adding content), but for the price this is a slick and attractive package.The console is battery powered and does not have an option to power via a wall plug. I haven't really tested the battery life, but, so far I have got several hours of game play from one set of 4 long-life AA batteries. It connects to a TV via a Composite AV cable (yellow plug for video and white for mono sound); some recent TVs don't have a composite AV input, so you might need an adapter (Composite to Scart is the cheapest option and there are lots available on Amazon).The console includes 11 classic Namco arcade games (Pac-Man, Galaga, Xevious, Galaxian, Mappy, Super Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Bosconian, Pac-Man Plus, Pac & Pal, New Rally X) plus Pac-Man 256. Pac-Man 256 is identical to Pac-Man except you start on level 255, so that after you complete it you can play the split-screen level. The box states that “level 256 was a half jumbled screen that only a few people in the world completed”. This is NOT true -NOBODY has completed it because it is impossible (because of a coding error in the original programme); it's a bit of a gimmick but probably to only way that I will ever reach l256 on Pac-Man.The console has an 8-way joystick while all of the games but one are designed for a 4-way joystick. This can makes controlling the characters a little more difficult at first, but practice makes perfect.

Like I said in the headline, the original version packed up, so bought this, bigger than the original, but saying that this one has space to store the cable when it's not in use, same games and works really well, really happy, can't beat the retro games.
