Kamasa 56017 Socket Set 1/4"D, 58pc

I was on the look out for a small compact set of sockets to keep in the car/house, but not a complete set as I have a larger one at hand. I looked at a few makers, and there are some nice quality sets around. I considered the Bahco S330 (which I have used), but concluded that I don't need spark plug sockets (they are not often used and I have them already) and this is a more complete set for just a few pounds extra, Teng make some great tools but not a set with the ratchet and screwdriver in this size, though Draper Pro came close the deeper driver sockets and T bar won the day. The idea isn't to replicated my bigger set, or get a larger set..but one that has most of the items I might need at hand, in a small case.The set came in a good quality "blow moulded" case this measures: 24cm length, 17cm deep, and 5.5cm thickness, easily small enough to store in the boot tidy without impacting storage capacity.Despite the small size this set contains quite a lot these are:-1/4" Ratchet with 72 teeth with a comfy rubber grip- Extension bars, 50mm, 150mm- Sliding T bar, 160mm long9 Deep Sockets:5-13mm13 Standard Sockets:4-14mm6 Star Sockets:E4-E10 sizes8 Star Bits:T8/10/15/20/25/27/30/403 Hex Bits:7/8/10mm12 Bits:1-3 Pz, Flat 4/5.5/7mmHex: 2/2.5/3/4/5/6mmAnd the adapter to attach the Bits/Universal jointAreas that stood out to me, firstly the Ratchet this has a whopping 72 teeth which might not sound that exciting but in areas with limited movement it allows you to get a turn on where a low teeth Ratchet would require a larger movement. Push the back button to release/load the bits and it's comfy to hold with a firm grip handle this has some good grip too, as does the screwdriver and it's smooth in use with a reassuring click for each stop. I don't have a lot of deep sockets so a mini set of these is something that was also a factor for me, as was the star sockets (again I have some but not that many). Not only does this give me a portable set that is space friendly, it adds some items I don't have.Finish on all the parts is superb, a satin effect on chrome vanadium. A mention on the case, nice thick plastics but critically it has a hinged back and double hinged latch. Too many socket sets have a single mould crease at the back of a weedy latch, both of which can break over time, it's spoiled some decent sets as the maker cheaped out here. Not so here Kamasa have a sturdy case that should last the distance, you also get a foam padded section to reduce noise between the sockets/bits etc. I might have liked a small carry handle included in the case design, but I'm nit picking on what is a fine set. There are plenty of cheaper sets around, this strikes a very good balance between quality/quantity and price. For me this is one of the best small socket sets I have used. A very very strong recommendation from me.

These are a excellent quality tool ,money well spent ideal for small work and very strong, well recommended
