Great guitar!
This guitar was described as used, with damaged packaging, and 5% cosmetic damage on the front and back...but the price was so good I couldn't resist! When it arrived, there was no damage to the packaging, and the only "damage" to the guitar was: on the front, some scratches on the neck pickup (looks like the strings got pushed up against the pickup), and on the back some scratches on the control cover plate. The actual finish on the guitar is perfect (front and back), the neck is perfect, the headstock is perfect...hard to tell it's a used guitar. The only "problem" was that the action was set very high...but a two minute adjustment fixed that! This is a GREAT guitar! The neck feels great...not too fat, not too thin, good fret work, seems like a fairly large neck radius (which I like). The guitar is very comfortable...not too heavy, not too light, and while it's more or less a "Strat" body, bevels on the front and back make it much more comfortable to play. Oh yeah...playing...sounds great! The pickups are good, and while I would like separate volume controls, the pickups are set so I get exactly the sound I want when using both pickups. In summary, while I got this one at a ridiculously low price, it's a bargain at the regular street price! For your first, or second (or 18'th!) guitar you can't go wrong with this one!

Follow up, the best way to describe this guitar, Its like a car used to be before pollution controls. Simple powerful pick ups.
Very clean, honest sound. The Youtube videos were very accurate in their sound. The sound I just love. The simple design is great behind this guitar, it is evident. Who ever designed it knew what the player needed. Very good instrument and fret board. It was perfectly set out of the box and is just plain cool looking. Very light, I think the body is plastic, but i dont care. I,m not scratching it to find out. You will not be disappointed with this instrument. If you are a beginner, this is the one to learn to walk with. You could play it for the rest of your life. Hand it down to your children. My goodness, but this thing is nice. My guitar is just plain fine. My name is Taokab, and I approve this message. (It was packaged in double boxes and delivery was good) follow up, still good, It has good sustain, Stays in tune so far, It is not plastic or a composite material. It is a grained wood. Thats what I saw taking off the back plate to the electronics. Very neat work on electronics. Bound and shielded. Still like it. Clean, sound. Good guitar.

Quality control sucks
Got it wanted to like it but fret job is terrible. 12 fret needed pounding to get it to seat. Neck was crooked and had to detune unloosen bolts and straighten it. Frets were corroded had to polish them. Complete nightmare. Eff off a hector.

lightweight & balanced killer axe
This is a great beginner to mid-level guitar and i wouldn't really be surprised if a long time guitar aficionado has one of these as a favorite. I like the lightweight but balanced feel. Seems lke Schecter created this affordable guitar by cutting corners that don't affect the most important things on a very playable guitar. Well worth the money. I did have to tighten the tuning key nuts; they were loose enough to turn with my fingers. Not sure if vibration from shipping caused it or what but after i torqued them and added brand new strings I am very pleased with everything so far. This thing sustains like a tuning fork and plays very easy. You will not be disappointed.

Probably one of the best beginner guitars out there.
I bought this guitar for my daughter since she is interested in playing guitar. I have several that she has noodled around with, but she wanted one of her own. You don't want to break the bank on a first guitar if the person learning ism't going to keep playing, BUT you need to have a quality guitar to learn on. There is nothing worse to a beginner than trying to learn on a junk guitar. So, on to the C-6 Deluxe.... This is absolutely a great first guitar. The neck is comfortable, and the frets are all clean and level with no sharp edges. It uses Schecter's tuners, which are great, and a TOM bridge. It also has a Black Tusq graphite nut ( this is a good thing :) ) , which I don't see mentioned in the product description. It has Schecter's own Diamond series pick ups in it, and they are more than adequate for just about any kind of tone you want through a decent amp. You can burn up the metal, or go clean with them and they sound great. Were they saved the money to make this guitar 250 bucks is in the finish. It's not bad at all, just not great, no binding or special top, and a plain fret board.. The pots and tone switch seem a bit on the cheap side to me as well, BUT, they are still great for a entry level guitar. I have this guitar's big brother, and the 200 dollar difference really boils down to looks and features like coil splitting for the pick ups, and maybe better quality pots and switches and wiring. But, in the end, they pretty much sound and feel the same. If you want a guitar to learn on, this is absolutely one of the best guitars for the money. I kind of hesitate to give it 4 stars, because for the money, as entry level guitars go, it's an easy five stars.

Great
I know nothing about guitars but my son wanted an electric guitar for Christmas. I heard Schecter was a good brand and this was the least expensive one, so I went with it. Sounds great, the guitar teacher says it’s a great guitar and will do great for learning.
