Delicious, cruelty-free luxury treat!
Full disclosure: I've been a vegetarian since I was 11 and have never tried real caviar. However, my partner has only been veggie for the last 2 years, and he has eaten caviar. Both of us loved this stuff!Sure, if you're expecting real fish roe, I'm sure this won't quite cut it. However, this product exists for those of us who want a taste of luxury without the cruelty. And as far as that goes, it really is an opulent treat. Is it worth $20? I'm really not sure, as it is about double the other brands of vegan "caviar" we've tried in the past. However, it also tasted even better than the other options we've tried. There is a pleasant salty, umami flavour that gives this caviar a "fishy" edge, and the texture is delightfully realistic (according to my partner). We enjoyed this for a special dinner yesterday, during the COVID-19 lockdown, when we couldn't go out anywhere to celebrate my guy's 32nd birthday. I ordered it so we'd still have a special treat for his special day. We ate it on homemade bread toasted into little crostinis, topped with creme fraiche. Highly recommend it with a glass of champagne! All in all, this is a great, luxurious treat for those who don't want to eat real fish roe but still want that caviar feel/flavour. It tastes great, feels fancy, and is different from your day to day fare. It is cost prohibitive as a regular purchase at $20 per small jar (we used about half of the jar between two of us, just as an appetizer, on 4 crostinis), but was perfect to scale up an isolation birthday celebration!

It arrived damaged and expired date of 5/1/21! Not eligible for return. Beware!
Can't return it apparently, as it is ineligible, did not realize it. The jar looks like it has been pryed open and closed, it is oily all over and the box was fine, not damaged at all. The best is the expiration is 5/1/21 and it came yesterday, 10/28/21.Buyer Beware!!!

Had a craving for Caviar...
...and these didn't disappoint.I was pleasantly surprised to find some of my favorites listed but well into the $hundreds. Given my wife is a vegetarian I figured I would give this a go, can't beat the price relatively speaking. The packaging was spot on. Maybe a few more dents and some light rust might have made it seem like the ones I have often found on the shelves in Russia. :)The "eggs" looked pretty good from the distance. On closer inspection they lacked some of the sparkle. Where they fell short was on taste and the quality that Japanese refer to as Hagotai (physical taste) - they lacked the Brininess of caviar and the explosive flavor sensation biting into a fresh egg. However these were pretty damn tasty and great for a indulgent session with the family and friends, even food snobs. My teenagers love caviar and both enjoyed them as something different. The elder preferred Ossetra but the younger actually prefered the smooth flavor of the Vegan alternative.I'll have to try them with a nice icy shot of Russian Standard.

These don't have the pop of other caviar (vegan or not) but the flavors just what I was looking for
While these don't have the pop of other caviar (vegan or otherwise) the flavor is just what I was looking for.I used these on a fish platter I was assembling for New Years Eve, so these were going on top of crackers layered with cream cheese, salmon, mussels, shrimp, or whatever else we decided to eat with them.I think the next morning I poached some eggs and topped them off with the rest and they were perfect. If you're craving the snap/pop of other varieties, you won't find them here. But! The flavor and the savory deliciousness was right on the nose.

Hits the spot!!
I come from an extensive background of born&raised in the USSRland and having traveled to very many exotic destinations with respectful cuisines. My kids will attest to the weird tastes I have, and a non-discriminating nature of my meals (eggs in the evening? fine! fish for breakfast? why not...) Recently, I became vegan-curious (but do not observe any exclusive diet). This is a very enjoyable product. I compared it to another brand, and find that a more smooth texture of this one is far superior to the alternative. It is NOT real caviar, but it approximates the experience very well. I like the taste and texture a lot, and the price of it is on-point for what you get. I am ordering more as I write this. On my photo, it is paired in a breakfast with a slaw&egg, and a homemade vegan mushroom/walnuts pate on light toast with vegan butter (there is a vegan butter I absolutely prefer to the real deal now). Delicious vegan caviar. I kind of wish I knew of this sooner. The packaging is great - looks also very high class, like the original item.

What a pleasant surprise!
My husband and I love caviar, but seldom eat it because of it's price. We stumbled upon Tzar's Vegan Caviar on Amazon and took a chance. Mind you, we are not vegans. We were not disappointed, but pleasantly surprised! The packaging was great - very much like real caviar. We had it during cocktail hour and served it on some water crackers and zuchinni slices. The appearance and texture were so realistic - It was really delicious. It was too much for two of us to enjoy in one sitting, so we put it in the refrigerator and ate the remainder two days later - still as yummy. It was so good infact, that we shipped a jar to my Brother and his lady who are both Vegan's. They have yet to try it, but I'm guessing the will now be fans. We will surely buy this again and recommend to those that want a caviar experience without it being actual fish eggs, or expensive.

Close but no cigar.. not good quality product
It is not what I had before, although packaging and lettering are similar. This product doesn’t digest and you can’t bite into grains of “caviar”. Wish I could have product that is sold in Azbuka Vkusa in Russia. Would not mind paying premium 150% either. Just bring quality product. Please :)
