1,027 GRE Practice Questions, 5th Edition: GRE Prep for an Excellent Score (Graduate School Test Preparation) 5th Edition

Let me tell you how I paid for an online program and I was only able to score 142 on verbal and 140 on math. I had 2 days until I had to take the GRE, so I stopped using the online program and used this book instead. In 2 days (this is not and infomercial, it's the mere truth), 2 DAYS I took a practice exam again and got a 152 on math and 150 on verbal. Not the most prestigious scores, but hey, I got into grad school!The book is good for several reasons. It gives you tactics on how to use the information on the test to answer itself. There are always clues or tricks that you can use. For example, instead of working through the problem from scratch, use some heuristics to narrow down the answer and the use the plug-in method. There are soo many practice questions that are basically the same as what you might find on the test. I definitely partly attribute this book to my ability to score well on the test and get into this program. I would not have gotten in with a score of 140.

The extra practice included here really cemented my practice process and helped me to achieve my top score.

I’ve yet to really delve deep into the material of this book (the practice questions are the reason I bought this book to begin with).I will say that the ‘Quadrilaterals and Polygons’ chapter is the only one in this book that’s not accessible in the older versions you can find for free online. I will also say that only a few chapters have individual questions that have been traded from questions in the old version to new ones in the new version. I’ve been looking for an e-book version of this text (as I am practicing the questions using a spaced repetition software, and would thus have ease in converting the questions from this chapter to software form with the help of an e-book. Unfortunately, Kindle and iBooks don’t have them in an e-Books format).

Questions give you insights on how the patterm works. Helpful for enlarging your vocab pool!

I found many incorrect answers in math problems. Actual test questions are MUCH harder than the problems in this book. I got a lower score on the actual GRE than I did on the practice test after using this book.

They said its paperback but it is pirated. Very bad paper Quality. Wastage of money.
