Laptop/Notebook Battery for Dell Latitude D420 D430

This battery replaced the original that I've had for 10 years. It is for my XP laptop that I keep in my car solely to view videos from my dash cam more clearly than the tiny screen it has.

Hard to install. Back of battery not like the original.

The battery worked well with 2+ hours life. The only problem is that Dell does not fully accept a non-Dell battery. I get a warning of low battery when the battery is not low. I checked the bios and it accepts the battery ok stating that it is good.

Works but doesn't seem to hold a charge long. Seems only good for about 2 hours then have to plug it back in

This battery probably lives up to its specs. My only problem with it is that it only keeps the computer going for a little over and hour. It's probably all the capacity one could fit into the space constraint, but it's a shame it doesn't keep last longer.

We got a refurbished laptop which, unfortunately, had an old battery in it, with only about 60% of its original capacity remaining. So I picked out a replacement -- this one -- and plugged it in, charged it up, and voila! Full capacity. These aftermarket batteries can be kind of a crapshoot, but I'm happy to say that this one works like a charm. I don't know if it'll hold up over time or not, but it seems just fine for now.

The battery has died in under one year. The laptop was hardly ever used, maybe a couple of times per month. But went to use it the other day and the battery no longer holds any charge. I am hoping for a refund or replacement.UPDATE: I contacted the seller directly and was told their was a one year warranty on the battery, but that I would have to pay myself to ship it back, along with a check for an ADDITIONAL $10 for them to ship a replacement back to me. Needless to say, I won't be doing this, as I'm not going to pay at least half the cost of the battery to replace a faulty product which may or may not die again within a year. This company, and their "warranty", are completely fraudulent. I am hoping that Amazon takes action against them. I definitely would recommend NOT purchasing this battery, or anything else from this company (Discountbatt/Superb Choice).

I bought a replacement battery for my Dell Lattitude D420 on eBay. It didn't work. The laptop rejected it with a message suggesting I go to the Dell website and buy a genuine (and expensive) Dell battery. I tried various tricks but nothing worked. Then I ordered this one at Amazon -- and it works! No problems. By the way, the cost was about the same.
