Advanced Lighting Systems UHL201H Corded Under Hood Light (2000 LM), 1 Pack

The previous light I was using was from eastwood and it works ok but the major thing I liked was the foam around the "arms" which grip the edges of the vehicle hood well and keep it in place. This light has hard rubber coating around the "arms" and doesn't grip the hood edge well and so the light slides down the hood and won't stay where I want it. That was my reason for returning it. For that price i want it to stay where need it. Other than that I was impressed with it.

The handles are made out of plastic and al ready cracking. Very cheap handles.

Since this is the first review for this light and I am by no means a professional reviewer I will do my best. First I am a DIY guy and I did not want to pay over $300 for a tool truck light, but I wanted a good light to last me so I went looking. I decided on this light there was no reviews but some times you have to gamble. First the box came with a hole in it from the light (picture) not a good start but nothing was damaged. Putting it together very simple comes with a hex key. Great color I love teal ( most likely what caught my attention in the sea of lights) This is a very well built light A VERY HEAVY TOUGH FEEL TO IT! Two power sources batteries or electric come with a very heavy power cord (picture) it can survive a tough shop environment. Mold grip good feel also I put grease and some grime on it. cleans up nice. Has a low light or a high light setting either one will work fine (pictures) I put the light on my Chevy Express work van and Gran Prix for outside and inside shots (pictures) I ran the battery down, it charge up in 2hrs and 47 minutes also brackets did not scratch paint. When you swivel the light it clicks and locks into place so no fighting it to stay where you need it. Extension bars have a good feel to them once in place the light will stay where you need it. It never slipped on my work van. I feel this is a superior product to the many other under hood lights on the market.03/18/2018 Update I have used this light now 7 times on different trucks if you use the light on high and have a very long job that will take several hours of course the battery will go down on you. The beauty of this light you have a electric power source to plug into to keep on working. I had it leaning on work bench and it slide off and the grand son dropped it playing star wars with it. No DAMAGE AT ALL one other note I left it on the hood of my work van for a week to test the extension bars no slippage no scuffs on paint.

I would give higher but it just doesn't have a long battery life.

This light comes in clutch when I detail interiors when it gets a little dark on me. The light is really bright plus it can be used while it is plugged in so just in case it doesn't have a full charge, you can charge and use it at the same time. A full charge lasts me 4 hours on the dimmest setting, but it don't matter to me since I use it plugged in most of the time.

Been through a number of hood lights from back in the original florescent days to the current led's, and this one shows it's superiority. Super bright white light. 2 levels of brightness. A great feeling on and off button and Corded or cordless which is certainly a bonus. I was hesitant to be sure at the cost as I've bought LED lights in that past that in the end was greatly disappointed, this light however was true to it's sales pitch and would recommend anyone looking for a new light to bite the bullet and buy it.

This light is great when it works but mine stopped working after only 2 uses.The battery shows fully charged but the thing won’t turn on anymore. This type of failure is unacceptable at this price point. Especially a failure after just 2 uses.There are a lot of better options at this price point.

This light will light up the world. Note: do not look directly into it. LOL! This thing is Bright.

Very good product.the only problem battery do not last 4h like they said.and when battery is low light start flashing.and eveb if you plug it still flash.but it still a good product if you manage well you battery.

It doesn't have enough tension to stay in place on the hood. Nice and bright, but for the price I would expect it to not slide down the hood.

Light worked great up until June 2019. Have not heard back from ALS for any repair information. Great working light but would not purchase again due to poor customer service. Thanks

This is an extremely well built piece of equipment. Tried on three vehicles today. Snug and easily adjustable with no chance of scratching. Had it on for three hours on high now. Shames everything else out there.The charging cord is heavy duty 12 gauge and 20 feet long.
