My mom loves it
My mom is 98 years old. Because she has macular degeneration, this talking clock comes in handy for her. Even though it's a key chain style, she has it pinned to her sweater for convenient use. So far it works great, and the tone is clear, loud and an American style voice that she has no trouble understanding.

Great talking pocket watch.
This is great for a blind person. It is light, small and easy to use. However, the batteries are very hard to change. This is the 3rd one I have purchased and each time the battery life appears to be less. And when you change the battery it is very hard to to put it back together.

Invaluable timepiece for the blind
This time piece is easy to carry from room to room and even attach it to a purse when leaving home. The battery is a bit tricky to change, but patience help.

Bought two - 1st one lasted about a year, second one about 6 months
Update to my previous review. Everything I said about its convenience and usefulness are still true, but the second one I bought after the first one stopped working, quit in only six months. I am going to try a different brand this time.Original Review:I got this for my mom who is in a nursing home and has very little eyesight. This really helped her a lot. It announced the time on the hour, but at any time she wanted to know the time, she simply pushed the button and it spoke it. This was helpful when some dishonest nurses aids tried to tell her it was a different time for various reasons, she was able to call them out on it each time. This actually the second one of these I purchased becuase the one I got her last year bit the dust. Tried changing battery, but still didn't work. However, this works so well and is priced so reasonably that it is still worth the risk of it only lasting a year. It's just the inconvenience to my mom not having it while we tried to figure out how to get it working.

Only Worked for 3 Weeks
I've ordered 2 of these for my mother who is 93 and blind. The first one lasted about 6 months and we were very pleased. She could hear it clearly, it was very easy for her to use and for me to set for her. When it gave out I couldn't find the batteries, so I just ordered another one since they are not expensive. The second one worked just as well, but it only lasted about a month, just past the time allowed to return it. I found the right batteries online, but before I bought them, I tried to open the battery compartment and found that it was really hard to do. I had to use a tiny screwdriver and when I finally got it open, the whole thing was so flimsy it looked like it was doubtful that it would work when I put new batteries in it, in which case it would be a waste of money to buy the batteries, so I will not buy the batteries or this watch again. I'm looking for one that is better made, that will last longer, and that will be easy to put a new battery in.

Very helpful
My dad has a neurological disease that makes it difficult for him to see but also causes him to fixate on things. His biggest fixation is time. It felt like he was constantly asking, "What time is it?" We tried getting him standard wristwatches but the numbers were too small and he had a hard time moving his hand far enough away to see it. Also, it wasn't good in the dark because he couldn't find the "glow" button. This talking keychain works great for us. I got it for him for Christmas and it's now March and it's still on the original battery. It was easy for me to set and it's pretty easy for him to work. It can be set on the arm of the chair, where he can grab it. It takes him a few tries to get his thumb to the bar (we let him fumble to work on his hand movements) but once he does, he can push it and hear the time. The voice is loud enough for him to have the device on his lap and hear the time. (Note, he has good hearing. My mom does not have good hearing and she needs the device nearer to her ear to hear it.)I know everyone has different needs, but this works great for us.

Great for the visually impaired
My dad is almost blind due to macular degeneration, so this talking watch on a lanyard hanging around his neck is the perfect thing for him to be able to know the time of day.

Nifty talking clock
Love the size & clear enunciation of the time. My mother in her 80’s who is visually impaired is very dependent on it & can carry it easily with her. Well worth getting.
