Distinctive, pleasant-writing pen
I'm a doctor who has to carry a pen around in his white coat for the occasional written order, jotted phone number, or clinical note. I felt bad always borrowing pens from nurses and midlevels when my own would run out of ink, so I finally decided to upgrade to something. My priorities were something that wouldn't leak into my coat; something distinctive, so someone wouldn't accidentally pick it up thinking it was theirs;something with a clip for the coat pocket; and possibly something attractive, something that conveyed a sense of personal style. I don't write a whole novel at a time so long-term comfort was not a priority. This great looking wood pen checked all the boxes - literally and figuratively. Unexpectedly it's also quite comfortable to write with. It takes standard ballpoint refills, but I've been using the one it shipped with for more than a month and no signs of running out. And I really like the way it looks; in the world of personal pens, the sky is truly the limit when it comes to what you can spend, but I did not find any other pen I liked as well under the $500 price point, and that's saying something. If it disappeared tomorrow I'd buy it again - I'm now the doctor with the cigar pen - and I guess that says it all!

Does length really matter?
My first reaction to the pen was "it's so short"... After using it for a day and getting past that initial reaction (which you do not notice when the pen is in your hand), I got curious and measured it to compare to other pens I own and found that it is only 3/8" shorter than my standard sized pens. After all, how far does the pen have to stick up over the top of your hand anyway? (See attached photo.) Due to the thickened barrel, I suspect this contributes to the illusion that the pen is much shorter than a standard pen. When it is in your hand it doesn't matter. I have been using it for a day (and I am constantly writing with a pen during the day when I am not typing at a keyboard), and I have found it to be quite comfortable to use. Not only a great pen to use, I am sure it will be an eye-catcher when others see you/me using it as well.

Nice design but pen cartridges skip
I love the weight and comfort of this ballpoint pen, but the pen cartridge is not as fluid as it should be for the price, it skips. I have the same brand fountain pen also pear wood, it is perfection. I plan to try other ballpoint pen cartridges, the body/design of this is good.

Great Pen and Classic look
Love the feel kind of big with my smaller hands but a great pen.

Perfect, just perfect.
I love the size and the way this pen writes. Not too happy about the cap, it needs a little encouragement to stay tight. This replaces another pen of the same size and style non-branded I received years ago. I love the size style and functionality. If it lives up to my hopes it will be a great pen

A Good Pen that Could Have Been Great
Big in the hand. That's my first and still gingering impression of the E-Motion. I am a M-L in glove size depending on the make, but this felt like I was holding a pipe. I really like the aesthetics of this pen, and admittedly am a fanboi of the brand (my favorite pen for meetings is a Graf von Faber Castell). I had purchased it as a gift for my dad, and then waited for the chance to try it. FWIW, he did not share my observation and found it to fit comfortable in his hand, which is sized similar to my own, so I think purchase in the hand may be highly subjective with this pen. The pen is twist-actuated form the cap and the action is smooth, though lacks the 'clunk' of a bolt slamming shut like I feel on my GvFC. Nice packaging (read: gift worthy). I'm stuck between 3 and 4 stars, and want to spit the difference, if only because I think with the most minor tweaks in design proportions this could have been damn near 5 stars, so in the end I'm dinging them a half-star for leaving so much potential on the table despite the beautiful aesthetics of the pen.Pros:- Beautiful design- Quality materials, with quality tactile feel in the hand- hinged clip like more expensive Graf von Faber Castell- Warmth of pearwood makes for pleasant interfaceCons:- Heavy- Large circumference and cigar shape => small "sweet spot"- Can seem cumbersome for smaller or even medium hands- Price:Quality ratio seems a little high3.5/5
