SD5005 EZ-10 Column & Collection Tube, Clear Ring, Clear Collection, Blue (Pack of 100)

My lab is on a tight budget. We tend to accumulate a lot of liquid reagents from plasmid miniprep kits and DNA purification kits after all of the columns are used. These kits cost hundreds of dollars per box. The Bio Basic EZ-10 columns really came in handy. I just received and used a few columns for two procedures:(1) Plasmid minipreps from 6 different 3 mL liquid cultures (E. coli DH5-alpha Turbo, OD600 ~1.0); using Sigma GenElute buffers- Results: 110 - 190 ng/uL (85 ul elution buffer)- Restriction digests confirmed clean plasmid DNA with no genomic DNA contamination (see attached image)(2) Purification of DNA from ~100 mg melted agarose (0.8%); using Sigma GenElute buffers- Results: 12 - 17 ng/uL (80 ul elution buffer, back-eluted once)- OD260/280: 1.72 - 2.3 (the melting buffer tends to give funny OD260/280, but the DNA works great for downstream ligations to construct rDNA)For the performance, you can't beat the price! I strongly recommend this product and will be purchasing more soon.
