someone said it does not grip on birch plywood, ie smooth surface material. will it handle birch ?

I have not experienced any problems with them slipping off any materials that I've cut. I have used them for birch plywood and did not encounter this problem. These are my most frequently used push devices and I highly recommend them. Very safe, study, and most important versatile!

The sides adjust will hold 2x6 and more. If you do wood working an own a table saw the Gripper is a must have. Wish I had gotten mine before I cut the side of my thumb off.

What is the difference between the gr-100, gr-100b/y, gr-200 nd the gr-420?

Its the amount of accessories each version has..each level up gives you more stability and versatility
