Good product but received the wrong color
The Smith Creek Net Holster is an excellent option to the traditional magnetic release attachment. I recommend using the holster with a long handled net. I must admit that I lost a cheap short handled net that apparently went down stream without me. I am currently using a fishpond nomad emerger net with a 11.5-12 inch handle. The net is easy to access yet it feels secure within the net holster that I have attached to a Blackhawk duty/utility belt. There are pros and cons to the various net holders and attachment options but I like the belt holster because it takes the weight of one less piece of equipment off my shoulders, neck, and back. I am currently considering options of securing the net with a bungee and magnetic release for redundancy. The only reason for four stars Is that I ordered the holster in black, which was a bit more expensive, and received a green holster. I lost a few bucks and it was frustrating but it wasn’t worth the aggravation I’m sending the item back for a different color. Overall I’m very happy with the function of this net holster.

Fly Fishers best friend
This is a sturdy net holster that can hold any net you have with no issues. It is a tight fit and does not let your net wobble around or fall out.

Great item
I have gone without using a landing net for decades because I kept snagging them on brush when fishing. I read a review about this item and decided to get one. It was very easy to set up and kept the landing net against my back and out of the way. It was easy to grab the net and also easy to put the net back in. Works great. It is intended to use with a two inch wide belt but I only have a one and a half inch belt but it still worked just fine. Maybe I’ll buy a two inch belt someday.

Stellar Mount for ANY net...large or small!
This is the best holster I have ever bought and used for a quick access to my fishing net...large net or small net! It will clip onto ANY belt, pack or backpack!

I’m hooked
I’ve used a lot of net holders including magnets, sheaths, French clips and just tucking it into my wader belt. None of those worked as well as this net holster. I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical at first, but this holster kept my net out of the way when fishing and didn’t allow the net to bounce around or annoy me while hiking into the river. It keeps the net secure and I had no fears about the net falling out. My only complaint is that while it appears to be designed to put on and take off while wearing the belt, it was incredibly difficult to put on that way. It’s much easier to just thread it onto your belt as you are putting the belt on your pants or waders. Overall, a great net holder and worth the coin. It feels sturdy enough to last my lifetime.

Works OK for traditional tapered handle nets. Not OK for round straight handles.
How well it works depends on the shape of the net handle. If your net has a tapered handle it works just OK. If you have a straight round handle it will flop all around and be irritating. Way overpriced. I have had more time with it since my initial review now. I wish I had bought the cheaper fabric holster I had before but lost. The aluminum frame bends more than it should and one side sometimes comes off the belt. Adjusting the holster for different sizes is not that easy and can be frustrating. I would not buy another one. They may have led the way but there are better choices now. Still, it does work and you might like it.

great idea, but it doesn't really work with nets ...
Bottom line: great idea, but it doesn't really work with nets that have short handles. My net is a beautifully made Brodin with a handle that's a bit longer than the width of my hand.Took this with me out to Pa recently to fish some trout now that the temperatures are down from summer. Got to the side of the creek and put my rod together, screwed down the reel, threaded the line, and donned my waders and boots. Then I pulled this net holster out of my bag and grabbed my belt. This is remarkably easy to attach to the belt - takes a few seconds the first time. I put on the belt and tightened it, then took my net and holstered it.As I stood there - not even moving - my net pulled away from the vertical (against my back) and leaned outward. I reached around and pulled it out of the holster very easily and re-holstered it - again, no problem at all. But again, my net pulled away from my body by several inches. I couldn't fish or even walk around like this, so I didn't use the net holster.

Convenient but
OK for holding the net. Somewhat pain to use particularly when it comes to staying on the wading belt and adjusting to fit the net handle. Frankly not worth the $50 cost. I am really sorry I bought it. Moment ofweakness. As I found out later, Fishpond sells an entire wading belt with a similar device integrated with it for only slightly more money. I would not buy a second one and I would not recommend it to anyone

Top Qualität
Bin super zufrieden damit. Es ist super und massive verarbeitet und schaut gut aus. Für jede Wathose geeignet. Funktional, wie es bei Fliegenfischen sein soll. Ich gehe ohne nicht mehr ans Wasser.
