Practical Modern SCADA Protocols: DNP3, 60870.5 and Related Systems

I needed an introduction to the DNP3 protocol, which this book provides .It's a bit out of date and needs updating, as ethernet based DNP3 is barely covered.Still a good introduction without buying the specification documents.Maybe an updated edition could also cover IEC 61850 used in the electricity industry?

Plenty of background material. Good explanation of the theory in a pretty clear and readable style. Well laid out and indexed. Easy to pick up and look up a particular topic. Not as heavy going as many a University book
