Motion Electronics Discovery Kit

MY 10 year old son loves this toy! He doesn't play with a lot of toys due to the fact he loves soccer and would rather kick a ball than do anything. But this kept his interest for several hours the first time he played with it. This is very RARE! He was able to build the plane on his own which he liked. At first he thought it was going to be too hard but he was able to do it without help which was a bonus. He was able to get the lights going on the plane and the ball in the air. He got his Nerf gun out and decided to try to shoot it out of the air. Lots of fun...lots of creativity! I decided to order this one after he played with another Light Short Circuit set we have, this one is by far the best Snap Circuit on the market. Highly Recommend

What is there to say about this completely awesome toy? I got it for a Christmas present for my 7 year old daughter. She is very bright so I was not concerned about her ability to follow along with instructions. I put together the crawler for her... yeah that was some work. For those who decide to purchase this.. I highly recommend looking at the final picture rather than the step by step on how to build it. The final picture was by far more useful than anything else. Once put together... my daughter took it from there. She put the plane together by herself and has so far (over the course of one weekend) built about 15 of the instructed circuits. She gets so excited each time. While several of the circuits are motion related they do have a few for sound, and lights.. so I feel this is very well rounded. This was such a success I will definitely be purchasing the snap circuit lights so that she will have even more options of what to build out. I am highly amused and appreciative that this toy really teaches kids the mechanics of all their other toys. Just wow. 5 stars and more.

Very fun for my 7 year old grandson

My 8 year old Grandson didn't take to the kit at first, but has since learned a lot and seems to love it now. He doesn't quite understand the theory of how it works yet, but he's having fun learning, and it's fun working with him on each project, as he builds, learns and grows. We're looking forward to more advanced kits in the future. I rated the remote control question low because we haven't gotten that far yet and I had to put something there to move on.

Santa brought this for my five year old who is always trying to make robots. He loves it! He has it out every single day. It’s really user friendly and has a lot of different stuff to keep the kiddos busy. So far my son has made his own night light for his room that he insist on having. And he has done many of the projects that are listed in the book. But the night light was all him. It is so user friendly that I (mom who has no experience in electronics) can help put these projects together. Dad is able to explain circuits and stuff but we have fun just building the projects. As my son learns he teaches me. His sixth birthday is coming up and I intend to buy him other snap circuit kits because he loves this one so much! It’s fun watching him bring a crawler to life and get so excited about it! Even his teenage sisters sit down and build stuff with these kits. I highly recommend them!

My son has thoroughly enjoyed this kit and I can say that it's pretty awesome considering the price. Especially when you think about what they charge for Lego kits, etc. Couple of disappointments that kept me from rating it as 5 stars: 1. They include no extra assembly hardware and I had one of the screws shear off at the head. Just a manufacturing defect on a very small part, but no spare screws made it problematic. 2. The fan lights stopped working properly after the second day. Big bummer for my son. Besides those things, I feel that you get a lot for your money and this is the first toy that has truly captivated my son for hours.

Got this for a science project credit for my sons science class project. He had a great time creating some project ideas before settling on one. Perfect purchase for us and the Summer coming up. They can fiddle with it on the very hot temperature stay indoors days. Good quality and very decent price point. Love this company and their products!!

Purchased from Warehouse deals - used but in excellent condition. Good value at $55. Son was very excited to play with it and continues to have great fun ( and learning ) building the circuits and learning about electricity, mechanics and design. This was his second set from Elenco. Highly recommended for children in 6 - 12 year age group.

Very engaging way of getting kids into Physics

By far the top electric circuit set my grandson has at present. He is really into electric circuits and this one is the most challenging one he has of the two previous sets. He got his first set at 4 years old, (even though it is rated for 8 years and up). He is now six, and thoroughly enjoys the many projects that challenge him. Excellent buy.!

Good stuff but kids find it one or two time fun. Does not challenge so much . Considering that it gets discarded rather fast , it burns hole in the pocket ! This is not a negative review. But from VFM perspective .
