will this work for S&W airweight 38 special 5 shot?

Yes it will, at least in mine. I have a S&W model 37 Airweight 38 special 5 shot. However it is an older model (made in 1961) with a flat cylinder release. It’s just a little tight but it lines up and releases fine. When I twist the knob the ammo falls right into the cylinder. I know a few years later, the cylinders release on the S&W airweights grew a little thicker so I’m not sure if those later models cylinder release interferes or not with the speed loader or not.

can it be used with the ruger lcr ?

Yes it can. I use them for my LCR and a S&W 442. The grips on the LCR are a little bulky so you have to line it up at a bit of an angle.

Will this work on a s&w bodyguard .38spl+p?

The 36 and 36-a should work on j frame s&w revolvers including the bodyguard

will this work on a ruger .38 Special LCR?

Some say it works good - others do not. You might try "5 Star" and the Ruger Company makes one for that gun that you KNOW will work well.
