Amazing quality for the price. So glad I found this here on Amazon. We bought ours from KK Music Store. Came well packaged, and arrived in 8 days. (We did not do a rush) Trombone has great sound and looks to be of very good construction for a student trombone. I realize that this price point is supposed to be lesser made than the true professional trombones (and a bit smaller of course), but it really sounds and looks fantastic. Much better than I expected actually. The brass finish is pristine, and has silver accents. This is really a great horn at a very good price. The case was a great surprise, not hanging strings or cheesy zippers, it has rubber feet on the long side and the larger horn end (so it stands solid & won't topple over on its own). The case is made of very heavy canvas with double zippers, and extra snap enclosure to cover zippers when closed under the carry handle. Actually it has several handles to carry in different ways. the inside is custom fit for the horn with 2 protected door compartments for extra gadgets, and one larger rectangle zipper on the outside for music. The lining I expected to be a very inexpensive lining, but it is really very nice, thicker well made velvet like material. The 2 pcs. of the horn are in thin protective dust covers, and the overall presentation is quite lovely and everything seems of great quality. If you are looking for a young student, do not hesitate, this is the one for you! So pleased I did not buy a used one. Do look here on Amazon and buy the bow protector as well, it fits this unit perfectly & will protect the end that I'm sure the kids will rest on the floor while waiting for there part to play.

This is an amazing value for a student. I replaced a rental trombone I was paying $25 a month for, which means I'll have this paid off by the end of this school year. If she keeps playing I'll be further ahead every month after that, and if she changes to something else I'll sell it on Craigslist and STILL be way ahead. If she stays with trombone and we decide we do need something better for competitive high school bands we'll probably keep this for an "at-home" practice instrument (or sell it and get a down payment on a mid level instrument -- though frankly this is probably good enough for any band). But the thing is ... this is a perfectly good trombone. Definitely as good as the rental we returned (looks better, of course, because it's new). And another shocker ... when it came with a "soft case" I really expected a cheap and non-protective bag. But while it's technically a soft bag it's VERY solid and protective and BETTER than the plastic hard case she had with the rental. Seriously. The case even has shoulder straps so she can carry it like a backpack. So glad I took a chance on this. One of the best finds I've ever had. Now to find a similar value in a violin for the other girl ... ;-)

My 11 year old joined band this year, and this was a great option for him. The case isn’t flimsy either, it withstands daily bus rides from school home. Would recommend super slick slide cream to go with. He’s doing great on this instrument. Very happy to find an affordable option for him. Purchased July 12, 2023. Update 11/13/2024. Still believe this is a great affordable option for those starting out. It isn’t as strong as other materials, tends to get dinged up with use by my middle school aged child. However it was a great starter option without breaking the bank. Oh and the case-I had to repair a handle this week from use, thread separated from the main case. Still holding up for now though. Definitely recommend purchasing a cleaning kit/slide cream as well.

I ordered this trombone because I wanted to add a small bore horn to my collection. I currently play the Conn Constellation and have owned this big bore (.547) for 40 years. My Conn is unquestionably superb in all respects but it is getting a little demanding in my old age when it comes to quick bell sounds or blasting as I like to refer to it. The Mendini is a .508 bore and when compared to the Conn seems to almost play itself, just what I was hoping for. I played it for a couple of weeks and the slide was harsh at first but seemed to smooth out with lubricant and use. I loved the way the high register notes came with ease. This was a horn that I could have live with except it was a little too light for me. With much tribulation I decided to return it because I felt that with my experience on the Trombone (+/- 40 years) I would not be happy in the long run. Trust me, the horn is great and it performs to the old saying that "90% of the good sounds that come from an instrument are generated by the musician and the remainder are from the instrument". This is a great trombone and will serve most musicians well. Although it is probably not well suited for heavy gig work because it is of light construction.

Great trombone for an unbelievably low price. Looks great and plays great. The slide is excellent when cleaned and properly lubricated. I use Super Slick on it and the slide is super slippery. The horn would be great for youngsters as it is light and easily managed. Don't listen to bad mouthing about this trombone, it is a true bargain and this from an old guy who has owned expensive top brand horns. Have been playing the Mendini MTB-L B Flt Tenor Slide Trombone for almost a week and would like to add that it plays great, the slide is great and the horn is very comfortable to play as it is lighter to hold than most of the brand names. Comments about how thin the tubing is distresses me, as any instrument will suffer dents and dings if treated roughly. Selling a great student trombone for less than $150.00 enables many to study the trombone that could not afford more expensive horns!. Musical instruments are tools and like all tools, should be well cared for to keep them looking and playing well, spite of the thickness of the tubing, etc.

I played trombone for three years in middle school and had some extra amazon gift cards so I decided to buy another trombone out of nostalgia. I'm really please with my purchase. The sound is great and the construction is very good. It comes with a mouthpiece, metronome, tuner, slide grease, and gloves (for cleaning I guess?). The case is light but hard - perfect for carrying the instrument to school or band practice. The slide is quick and all pieces fit nicely. Tuning sounds great. This probably won't cut it if you're trying to play in the Philharmonic, but is way more than adequate for a school band or anyone just wanting to learn the trombone. See the video below - I can't find anything negative to say about this trombone. If you're looking for something to buy your kiddo for band, this really is a great trombone and is going to be better than anything you'll find at your local music store. It comes with everything you need to start playing.

My son LOVES this trombone!! It is shinier than others. It can be carried in the hand like a tote, or it also has straps so it can be carried like a backpack so he doesn’t fumble all over the bus with it. More than a year later now, and we still love this! It did need a repair, because my son somehow got a dent in the slide. His new band instructor urged parents to resist buying “inexpensive” instruments from Amazon, saying that the cost of repairs needed due to low quality will end up exceeding the price of just getting a better instrument to begin with. I asked him later on about this one specifically, because I’d rather know whether to go ahead with the repair or just put the money towards a better instrument. He said that the Mendicini brand IS a good one, and his opinion was to go ahead and get it repaired. So now I’m even happier with this purchase!

I got this for my daughter who is in her first year of band. After seeing what the local instrument company had to rent per the band teacher. Let just say what they wanted me to rent "the instrument " was complete garbage and then let's not forget the outrageous rental fee. I went on Amazon looking for a new trombone as the one they wanted me to rent was brass plated and heavy. Then I found this one and let me tell you it is one beautiful trombone. It's all 100% brass, it's very lite comes with a very nice case, gloves, cleaning cloth, and a tuning sensor. Best of all my daughter loves it! And so do all the other band members.
