Illuminating book combining science, psychology and many anecdotes for positivity
Though I am not usually a reader of "self help" books I absolutely loved Happy when I got my copy last year. I haven't read Calm but having flicked through it I can see that all 3 of Fearne's books have a similar formula of: advice divided in to sections, beautiful illustrations, invited celebrities and specialist interviews, and finally, places where you are invited to reflect and record your own personal examples.Quiet is all about challenging negative voices in our heads, or mental chatter as she calls it, that hold is back from being at peace, or feeling confident, or simply enough. She identifies a number of varieties of such chatter, and then each section offers anecdotes, advice and reflection on ways to observe and silence them.I found with Quiet, as with Happy, there were many prompts that make excellent bullet journal pages to keep coming back to throughout a year or particular period, that help to identify triggers at certain times, and also chart progress. Happy and Calm both had accompanying journal books published with them and it will be interesting to see if calm does too, but it is simple to follow the sections in this book and make your own if you BuJo (or have a planner).Naturally, this process of looking inwardly at what negative voices we hear can be revelatory, but also challenging, particularly if some of the voices relate to painful experiences or were the voices of others. I felt this was handled well, and Fearne certainly shares many of her own experiences that are relatable and comforting, so you feel able to open up, almost as if chatting to a friend, in a place of safety. So be kind to yourself, but if this is perhaps something that is concerning to you, then be reassured it is worthwhile confronting these sections that then hopefully allows for change.I found quite a few areas very interesting, particularly the parts surrounding sleep/dreams, and neuroscience, which were illuminating and a great insight in to human psychology and resilience. In essence this is a great book for anyone who needs encouragement to channel more positivity in to their approach to situations, particularly overcoming our own barriers to self confidence and courage.

simply BRILLIANT.
this is my first ever EARLY review of a book that is unfinished, that's because i just can't believe how BRILLIANT this book actually is.this is my first book of Fearns and I won't hesitate to admit that I'm not a follower of hers although I have seen snippets of her on celebrity juice and you just have to watch her to see her witty, funny, quirky side to like her as a person.her book then, is just brilliant in the way it explores life's difficulties and hold backs in a deep compelling way but at the same time has her experiences and history aswell as her own issues tied into one and this is what is making this book so enjoyable to read.and that's not to mention the amazing excersises throughout the book which makes you feel intrigued to complete them (which I have done) and it isn't just your usual write a few things down even though there is one like that, it's the way she's presented them ie the tree, the person, the heart bubbles, it's just unique and makes you feel kinda good for a moment cos it's not just plain lines to write on, it's like abit of fun.so I am very intrigued to continue reading on with this book and I can defiently say if you want a punch of lifes Strains, pains and just everything life can throw at you unearthed in a really deep and inspiring way then buy this book!hats off to Fearn!

Thanks again to the wise Fearne Cotton ♥️
Another wonderful book from the ever wise Fearne Cotton, I cannot thank her enough, ever since I began reading her wonderful books, I'm able to apply them to my own life and I've been so much calmer, I'm learning to let go of a lot of hurt from my family which I was never able to do before, if you think you aren't a self help book person like I thought I wasn't then you will be so surprised to read these books and discover how much fearne can help you too. A truly inspiring and amazingly helpful read. Highly recommend.

A lovely gift for anyone needing a brain hug
After visiting Fearne's Happy Place Festival last year, I bought this for a family member who has had a rather challenging time with mental health. I already follow Fearne on her journey through mental wellness online, and appreciate her enthusiasm and down to earth way of explaining things so thought this would be ideal for an introduction to this subject. She speaks from experience and is one of the most 'human' celebrities out there. I've heard that this has already helped the recipient to understand her inner critic and to find ways to silence the chatter that commonly invades her every day life! I'm looking forward to ordering a copy for myself soon!
