Love it!
I absolutely love this cute coat!! I found it in our local farm supply store for $150, and wanted to buy it sooooooo bad, but bought my son a birthday present instead... darn kids! LOL! I came home and looked on Amazon and found it! New it was $129, and I happened to see there was a used one for $89 so I jumped on it! It came perfectly packaged, still had tags on it and was in perfect condition! I have no idea what was used about it, but I sure am happy with this purchase!! As for the coat--it is excellent quality that you would expect from Carhartt! Very nice heavier quality and I know will last forever. I bought the XL, and I am 5:6 and 170lbs, and it fits perfect! Maybe just a titch too big, but otherwise perfect! I wanted it to come down far enough to cover my stomach, which it does, but just barely, that is the only thing I wish was just a few inches longer. It comes down to the bottom of my zipper on my jeans, the back is a bit longer. I love the end of the sleeves, they have a stretchy material with a thumb hole that will prevent cold air from going up the sleeve. This coat has pockets all over! If you need more pockets than this coat has, you either have too much junk, or need to get a huge purse! :) I got the dark wine color, and it is a beautiful plum/dark brownish color, not a bright obnoxiously loud color, but a very pretty earthy plum color. I was torn btw the olive green and the wine, but got the wine and love it! Wish I could afford both! :) I could not be happier with this coat and I highly recommend it! It is replacing my winter coat, and I live in northern Wisconsin so temps get way way way below 0, and this will keep me warm, and keep out the wind! The hood is perfect too!! Love it!! :)

10/10 amazing! A workhorse of a rain coat!
(written by Paul's wife) I bought this to take on our honeymoon to Ireland/Scotland and it was amazing! So comfortable, perfectly waterproof and I loved all the pockets! We're photographers, so having lots of pockets for extra rolls of film, lens caps, film backs, extra lenses etc. is super important. We did several hikes through southern Ireland and the Isle of Skye in Scotland and this coat kept me warm and dry! It is extremely durable and stood up to wind, rain, mud with no issues. It is not just a liner/shell so it is not extremely light weight. I did not find it heavy or bulky, but compared to my husband's thinner shell style raincoat it definitely took up more packing space. I also LOVED the thumbholes on the wrist part of the sleeve, great for keeping hands/wrists warm in cold climates. As it is not a shell style, it is a warm jacket, but I never felt stuffy or overheated like I have in other rain coats. Somehow it is completely waterproof while still being breathable. 100% recommend and I will definitely be using it regularly during the rainy/winter season where we live.

Deep maroon color. Perfect fit, but…
I was concerned about the color being too light (because I wanted an actual maroon shade). This fit the bill…definitely a deep maroon. As for the fit, I got a large in the deep wine shade and it’s perfect. I’m 5’ 6”, 150 lb, 42-36-43. I have a wide back and shoulders and was able to bring my arms totally forward with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. While I haven’t tried it with anything thicker than that, I’m leery that might be too confining for me personally. Someone with a narrower back and shoulders might be fine with a sweater or sweatshirt under it. My arms are average size in circumference and I didn’t feel the sleeves were too tight at all. The sleeves were also plenty long enough which is unusual, because my arms are long. It was not fitted at the waist, which is fine because I need room to be able to fill up all of the pockets (of which there are plenty of deep ones). The 2 upper exterior chest zippered pockets might not provide room for anything but thin or flat objects for a 42” or similar chest, but all others are great. I especially liked the large inside Velcro pocket for enclosing a phone and the double exterior hip pockets. Each side had not only large flap pockets, but behind those were zippered angle pockets just right for putting your hands in while walking without involving the flap covered ones. My torso length is average and the length of the coat was enough to cover my behind for sitting. While the bottom is comfortable for hips up to 43-44 inches, it likely won’t accommodate anything larger. I was able to sit in it completely zipped without it being too tight. The lining of the body is a thin polyester perforated mesh, but the lining of the hood and sleeves are a solid thin polyester—not a fleece at all. While the exterior cloth may provide some protection from significant cold (I have not tested either that or rain yet.), I would likely reserve this coat for a milder temperature outside—no colder than 45 degrees…but clearly individual preference may differ. That said, it is neither too bulky nor too warm for sitting inside an arena with tight seating, which was a key requirement. The only thing I would have preferred to be different is a metal zipper, instead of the plastic one provided. I feel like this coat will last a long time and would prefer the zipper to last as long as the coat. It does, however, have snaps that cover the zipper, so if the zipper should fail, the coat is still usable. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend it highly.

A perfect jacket
This jacket is perfect in every way. It fits like a dream, looks great, and performs beautifully. It just feels good on. It makes all my other rain jackets seem pitiful in comparison. Its light but substantial enough to wear as an everyday jacket in the fall and spring. I love the quality of Carhartt and this jacket does not disappoint. I also love that I can always order a size large no matter what piece of Carhartt clothing I am buying and it always fits perfect. For reference, I am 5'4 and 130 lbs. I like clothes loose but not baggy. In this brand, a large always fits exactly as I like.

Very well made...........
I have been looking for just this jacket for years.....My son has one similar, that is way too big on me and I have looked all over for one just like it.What do I like about it? It has fasteners as well as a stout zipper. The hood is fitted around the face and the neck is high up to secure the hood in place (very handy in a high wind which we get here in British Columbia all the time) The jacket is shaped straight, like a man's, which allows for more freedom of movement. I like loose garments which don't bind. Another very handy thing is that it has 7 good sized pockets which are very well placed (not giving it a bulky look at all) I ordered an XL when I usually take a L. Excellent for what I wanted.

Worth every penny!
I love love love this jacket. I usually wear a size 16 or XL. I bought one size up as per the other comments and I’m glad I did. One size up will let you put a sweater underneath and still have some room. I’ve worn this out in Canada in -36 C and it kept me warm. Very breathable and the waterproof outlet layer works well. It also has extra fabric on the back so the jacket covers your bum, i love that as well because it blocks so much more cool drafts going up and under the jacket. I love this jacket and it’s worth every penny!

Good Fit, and Functional
I am 5'8' and 175lbs. I ordered a large and it fit perfect. The arm length could have been a tad longer for using the thumb holes, but the sleeves are still on the longer side as far as women's jackets go. I used to have the Carhartt Equator jacket which I loved, but sadly lost. This jacket is similar in construction but more substantial for a rain jacket, it is not as light as a "wind breaker" and will probably get me through the winter months as an out-and-about jacket if I layer it, which I have room for. I like the length in the back. Would recommend this jacket, especially for taller girls who struggle with torso and sleeve length.

Just what I wanted!
Super cozy (lined), and flattering style. Quality weatherproof jacket that will last for years. Perfect for my camping/fishing/hunting/horseback riding trips.

Good buy, but someone else had it first
So, I like the coat. It's light and it fits well. At least, I think it does. Thing is, It was obviously bought before and sent back. That's okay, it happens. But no one checked to see if it was clean or dirty. It is covered by what I guess is cat hair. Could be dog hair though. But there is hair everywhere on the coat. And some other stuff too. The bag containing the coat was ripped from side to side, carelessly but the hair is where they lost their stars. No one checked it? No one checked it is has been worn before? If it was even clean? And what kind of human send back clothes covered by cat hair!? For the price I paid, more expensive because it's the largest size I guess, I'd think I'd deserve A CLEAN COAT!
