I stopped eating meat over 15 years ago and used to buy these jerky strips at Whole Foods. Unfortunately, we now live in a town that doesn’t have a WF, so I had forgotten about these until I recently found them at an expensive, specialty grocery store. I was excited to discover they had them in a variety pack on Amazon and they were much cheaper than purchasing individually at the store. I’m on my second order now. What I love about these is I can throw them in my purse for a quick snack on the go and I don’t have to worry about them melting as we have very long, hot summers here.

Simple and fantastic. I had considered buying these for a long time but assumed they would be a let-down. I was wrong; I was dead wrong. They have great flavoring and the seitan base does a solid job mimicking the toughness of Jack Links' "beef steak" style jerky (which was always my preferred style before going veg). Instantly my favorite snack food, by far. With these in my personal item plane travel as a vegan will now be way less hungry/hangry, which my spouse will appreciate.

I enjoyed most of these flavors except for the Thai peanut. That one was nasty as hell. I had to spit it out. I'm not a picky eater but it just tasted wrong. The texture for each flavor also varies. The hot and spicy was soft and that Thai peanut felt like I was chewing through plastic. The lime one is too limey. Taste bitter and not refreshing. Otherwise some flavors are absolutely delicious. Some hit and misses.

I rarely leave reviews, but the taste of this product is gross. I have to force myself to try to finish this because I spent $ on this. Just being honest. The lime one was the worst.

Flavor is pretty good. But the texture is TOUGH. If you like the kind of jerky you have to bite and tug and knaw on then you’ll love this vegan jerky. If you like a softer bite keep shopping.

I’m literally so appreciative of this company for thinking about those of us who don’t eat meat but miss snacks like this. This is my favorite brand!

These are exactly what I was looking for as an easy savory snack to take on hikes. They are much higher in protein than most of the other non-meat jerkies I was finding, and the taste and texture are fantastic. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years, so I can’t compare these to real meat… the main complaint in other comments seems to be that it doesn’t taste like meat; so as long as you are looking for a savory jerky-type snack, and not expecting a true meat substitute, you should be happy. These are savory, satisfyingly chewy, soft enough not to hurt my teeth, and even the flavors I expected not to like have been delicious. My only complaint is that they smell a bit like dog food, but if you don’t take a big whiff as soon as you open the package, the smell isn’t that strong. The taste, texture, and protein content more than make up for the odd smell. I’ll definitely be buying these again.
