8500 mg/hr Ozone Generator Air Purifier with Timer

This one has a timer that makes it shut off after 2 hours. The next model up will go for longer. However this machine creates a lot of ozone in 2 hours, enough to take care of a relatively large space or start to do oxidative damage to materials in a smaller space. I have not used it a lot of hours but it is still working great 2 years on from buying it.

This did not work at all for persistent artificial fragrance odor where someone stored funky scented candles or in an area of new construction chemical smell. Since I don't have any smoke or mold odors, I'm going to have to return it. Judging by the lingering ozone smell even once the area had cleared for a bit, I do expect it is a pretty powerful unit if you've got the right problem.

This product absolutely does what their advertisement promises it will do. It will eradicate cigarette and cigar odor from vehicles and from inside the home and/or business. I even placed my hunting gear in a room with this unit, turned it on for thirty minutes, closed the door, came back in an hour or so, and when I came back, both the room and the gear were completely deodorized. I used this in my office building for an hour, and it was as if I had aired the building out for several days. It was that fresh.I even let my brother use this unit in his bar and lounge, and I'm having a hard time getting it back from him; it's that effective.I've read some other reviews, where the ones posting the reviews have really highlighted the harmful effects of ozone.Well, hello. I would hope that anyone purchasing or using this item would have enough intelligence to understand the use of this item, BEFORE they make the purchase or actually use the item. Of course, if you misuse virtually any product, there can be harmful results. Try mixing bleach with an acid-based toilet cleaner and see if there are harmful effects, or try drinking bleach and/or toilet cleaner to see if there are harmful effects. Of course there will be! Warnings are right on the labels. READ THE WARNINGS!!!! AND there are warnings about breathing in the ozone, on the ozone generator itself, and on the instructions and the advertisement. Once again READ THE WARNINGS before you make the purchase. It's that simple. Then you won't have to post negative comments based solely on the fact that you were irresponsible, and didn't read the information provided in the product description BEFORE you made the purchase.If used appropriately, this is a great product that I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

While the price was great, it defeats its purpose. It gives off a very unpleasant smell. Not very happy with this product.

I live in a 500 sq ft cottage, on the island of Maui, in Hawaii (moist tropical climate). This winter, with moisture from heavy rain and inadequate ventilation because of windows closed against cool outside temperatures, my cottage suffered a mold infestation. There was a distinct musty odor and mold visible on many surfaces. I ordered this device, and it arrived faster than I even expected. With just one use, it has made a huge difference already. I turned on the device for the full two-hour timer, and left for work all day. When I came home from work, I opened doors and windows, turned on a fan for air circulation, and left for some errands. I returned to find that the moldy musty odor had been significantly reduced, if not eliminated altogether. It was replaced with what I take to be a sweet clean odor from the ozone. I intend to repeat the treatment for a few days in a row, to thoroughly kill any mold, but already I feel that the money for the purchase was well worth it.ADDED NOTE:I want to add that I also used the unit for a car that smelled badly of cigarette smoke, after someone had been smoking in the car for a period of three months. I ran an extension cord into the car (easy to find a spot to run the cord through the front of the door between frame and rubber molding/gasket, plugged in the unit, started the car in Park and turned on the ac full blast on recirculate (this is important to clean the insides of the ventilation system, that capture odors), started the unit on timer for one hour, closed the door, and let the car sit sealed overnight. THIS WORKED LIKE MAGIC! INCREDIBLE! I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE HOW WELL THIS WORKED!!!!! The cigarette smoke odor is not just covered up - IT IS GONE!

In California (and perhaps other states as well), these Ozone air cleaners/generators/air purifiers have been banned and health dangers have been sounded. However, I purchased this before the ban was enacted. I must say, when used as directed, this machine works. I smoke (a little), but never in the house always in the garage or outside. Using this machine every so often, completely cleans the smoke odor and smell and leaves the garage fresh.

This is a great ozone machine and it did wonders for the stinky house we recently moved into. When we moved in there was the smell of food, like curry or something. It was extremely nauseating. We've heard of ozone generators being effective but never owned one. Definitely surprised at how inexpensive they are considering what they're capable of. Of course you don't want to be in the house when it's operating, as it is very dangerous to your health, so we left it running for 70 minutes although it will go as long as 2 hours. We got home about 4 hours later and the smell was gone and the house smelt fresh! We were so surprised! What we did notice though is that if you leave it on and don't let the house air out long enough the house will smell like charcoal, but that goes away shortly when the doors and windows are open.I'd buy it again!

Plugged the machine in, turned it on and left the premises as instructed. Did not notice much of a change in the odor my renter had left behind. Went to turn it on again and it would not turn on, so I do not know how long it ran the first time before stopping. I noticed when I returned it in the box Amazon had shipped it to me in, they had received it from the "returns" depot, so it would appear this unit was returned once before and then it was sent to me after it had been returned for not working.
