Brand 7" Clean Burn Ceramic Tabletop Fire Piece Torch, Chocolate Brown

The media could not be loaded. My wife is a big fan of things that burn, including tiki torches, so when the chance to review this came along, I had to give it a look.I got a pleasant surprise when the box came. The TIKI people threw in a bottle of their plant-based Clean Burn oil upon seeing I was an Amazon Vine reviewer, along with a nice note. TIKI Brand 1215057 Clean Burn Torch Fuel, 32 oz I can state that it is largely smokeless as advertised. It has a slight odor, but not unpleasant - certainly more pleasant than petroleum-based torch fuels.The table torch hardware is nice to look and at 7 inches across, it's not going to take up too much space. It makes a nice outdoor centerpiece. (Don't use it indoors, of course.)I'm not going to go into a lot of detail describing how it works - the product video shows that pretty well. It's not hard to fuel - just take your time pouring in the oil until the special wick is saturated. The lamp part of the table torch is a canister that fits in the center of a shallow tray, filled with glass stones (supplied with the torch kit). It's largely empty space inside, but the ceramic bottom is heavy enough to keep it from getting accidentally knocked around. It does get hot when the torch is burning - more than you'd want to handle with bare skin - but as the oil gets used up the flame gets lower and by the time it runs out (about 3 hours they claim), it's just warm.Don't try to pick it up while it's burning and you should be okay; they advise letting it cool down before handling it or refueling it. There's a lid that comes with the table torch you use to snuff out the flame and keep the lamp from getting soaked if it rains or there's a heavy dew.There's a certain pleasure just in watching any flickering flame; the tray of glass stones around it add to the experience by multiplying the flicker of the flame as they catch the light and reflect it in waves. I wouldn't use this in a high breeze, but there's plenty of motion when the air is still. I'm including a video of the torch burning early on when the flame is highest - it goes into slow motion so you can better appreciate the play of light and shadow.

This table-top Ceramic Bronze "fire pit" is great for those who lack the place or budget for an actual fire pit. It provides a bit of ambiance for your patio table, some light, and not least if you use the citronella torch fuel, protection from mosquitoes. This is great for those of us who display resistance to stuffing ourselves with foods mosquitoes don't like (like garlic and tomatoes).For review purposes, TIKI provided me with a bottle of their clean burn torch fuel, saving me the trouble of ordering that separately and allowing me to fire it right up. It is a nice-looking firepiece, fairly solid in construction, of ceramic and bronze. It's not going to blow over or slide away in a strong wind, though I wouldn't leave it out in the rain because as others have noted, it doesn't seal tight. It even comes with a bag of glass stones to spread out around the wick, which looks very nice.It is ridiculously easy to set up and use and it will; burn about three hours, and as advertised, the clean-burn fuel doesn't smell bad. You will need to replace the fuel at that point but not the wick. It will last you more than a single burn. It really is very nice looking and it makes sitting out on our porch far more pleasant. For the price you really can't go wrong. Why are you waiting?Update [4.25.17]: I wanted to add a photo of the tiki in action now that I have a nice new table and patio to use it on. It's a windy day but it's burning away without a care.

The container is beautiful and very elegant and it goes nice with my outside decor but it gives off more black smoke than anything I've ever used and I have to keep refilling it often even if I only use it for like an hour I have to refill it so now I'm looking for other options

In a small and does not provide warmth will it does give great ambiance. It fits well on our small table on our small patio. Although I got the clean burn Tiki fuel I do feel there's a little bit more smoke than I expected and the rocks need to be wiped off regularly. We are really loving this little fireplace though and for the price you can't go wrong.

Bought this as a gift for my husband. We both really like it but there are so few stones included. It looks a bit ridiculous with the few stones that were included and we haven't been able to find any others that are suitable to bulk it up. I just can't understand why they don't include enough in the first place as it really detracts from an otherwise good product.

It's always fun to fire up the fire pit on a cool summer night. This item makes using a "fire pit" on my covered patio possible. It gives off a lovely ambient light and is perfect on my patio. It's easy to fuel (just add fluid to the wick), easy to light (like lighting a candle) and easy to extinguish (just out the included lid on the flame and out it goes)Very happy with my purchase.

I love this so much. I light it all the time. It has made my summer so much better! Two things of note: the amber rocks get covered in soot, and the flame burns through the citronella oil I purchased like crazy fast but that is likely a fault of the oil.. the flame can sometimes get 6” tall and whip around in the breeze and the bowl can get sooty and hot.

Love this tabletop torch. It is the perfect size to put in the middle of a table. Burns very nicely when sitting outside with family and friends and we don't feel like starting up the fire pit. I bought it along with the Tiki torch fuel TIKI Brand Torch Fuel (2 Pack), 32 oz which does not smoke. I wish I could use that in the fire pit!
