These USB temperature loggers fits my situation to a tee!
All in all, I'm really happy with how these loggers work. The only major bummer is that I'm going to have to wait until next Spring to collect my data. ;-)Let me explain, I needed a way to record the temp in and around my summer cottage when it's winterized and closed up for the winter. I needed to know how cold and how long it stayed that cold inside cottage, this will help me determine where I can store my canned foods and liquids and how I should go about protecting those items from freezing.I've deployed them around the inside of the cottage and I've deployed one in the uninsulated attached garage on the north side to gauge the outside temp. The loggers are fairly rugged and robustly built. They have a temp range of -35 to +80 C (-31 to +176 F).The accompanying software that control these loggers works surprisingly well.Via the software, you can:1) Give the logger a name2) Choose logging in Celsius or Fahrenheit3) Choose the time interval for recording, e.g. recording at: 10 second intervals for 45 hours 1 minute intervals for 11 days 5 minute intervals for 56 days 15 minute intervals for 5.5 months 30 minute intervals for 11 months 1 hour intervals for 1.8 years 6 hour intervals for 2 years 12 hour intervals for 2 years *NOTE* the battery life is only 1 year.4) You can set a high or low temp alarm5) You can the logger for immediate or delayed start (you choose the date and time)6) You can view the data collected in graph format, export the data as CSV, JPEG, PDF, or export to Excel.I had a slight hitch getting the software to recognize the USB temp logger on my Windows 7 64bit laptop but resolved it by installing all of the Microsoft Updates for my machine and also installing the latest version of the EasyLog USB software (v7.0).
