My best investment in books?
This is one of the best investments in books that i have ever made, if not THE best one. The books itself if good, the concept its excellent and engaging and has the potential to challenge the readers’ intellectual boundaries (the translation is also a decent one, if not among the best out there).I also thank Amazon for delivering the product promptly and safely with the perfect condition. The book came inside a three layered packaging, and not a single page was damaged or harmed in any way.For Penguin, i always have loved and do love penguin’s publications, I prefer it over most of the publications out there in the market. I am absolutely amazed how they managed to make a book that contains 1400 pages with this quality of pages and prices within this affordable price range. Absolutely love it!

Damaged Cover
Although the product was good I mean in terms of fiction it is surely a masterpiece . You may find the opening chapters bit boring but once you cross 250 pages you simply won't be able to put the book down.talking about product quality I am sad to receive it in a damaged condition . The books cover had a crease which I had to cello- tape , the book had many minor creases especially on the back. The back of the cover had scratches on the top left corner and the book had depressions. Although there were no torn or missing pages yet first 3 pages immediately following the cover were slightly(about 2 cm in length) torn, yet it is acceptable. The book's font disappointed me as they were bit small and the book is too bulky to keep it on table. Basically all the damages suffered by the book were the seller's fault as I received it in a properly wrapped package covered with foam. Hope Amazon takes it into notice and gives me a small refund to compensate for the damages.

One of the best.
Excellent translation of one of the greatest books ever written. Much easier to read than its reputation would suggest. It has drama, intrigue, romance, and action; and many, many very universal insights into the human condition, all told on the backdrop of Napoleon's wars with Russia.

What More Do I Need To Say About The Author Of 'War & Peace'?
A blistering edition of 'the greatest novel' and certainly the greatest life story ever written. Anthony Briggs' scholarly translation is so beautiful, so lucid, that it paints the scenes in the book in your eyes. From rich, delicate soirées in St.Petersburg to love, despair & horror of the battles of Austerlitz & Borodino and then like the phoenix rising from the ashes, the reborn of a new society, this vast edition gives it all. In over 1,300 pages, you would never be bored for an instant because Russia, her heart, Napoleon and above all life is so aptly and honestly put, you would marvel at the end.

Good quality product but cover smeared with fingerprints
This is just a review of the product I received. I'm happy with the book, yes. It is a beautiful cover and was delivered in a good condition. Page quality, font etc are great. I would've preffered a cellophane covering as well because there were oily finger prints all over the cover that just won't come off. They make the book look dirty and a bit old. The texture of the cover is such that any mark becomes immediately visible.
